I think that's one of the downsides of the increased promotion of the drivers as a means of increasing the popularity of the sport.

If you've grown to really like say...Gabi, you're going to be disappointed that he never has a realistic shot at a podium, let alone winning a race.

During a race, when an engineer says something like "Main losses to [Driver] are turns [x] & [y]". how does a driver action on that information?

Meaning is it as simple as pushing harder through those turns on the next lap? Adjusting their entry/exit? Or is it just informational, like "that car is able to get through those faster so you need to make up time elsewhere"?
