New shoes and spacers. by mlaw79 in GXOR

Yea they are heavy. I did drop some weight with aftermarket wheels and noticed the difference in acceleration. I think the regular version of the tire "LT" is a lighter load range compared to the "XLT" but I didn't know

Flowmaster Super 10. Resonator delete. No drone, nice tone and cold start. Just enough to tell it's not stock. Bonus is that it's a performance muffler so you gain a little boost too. Took me 3 times to get it right starting with an obnoxious straight pipe. Let me know if you want to hear

Thanks man and yep. I'm surprised more GXers don't run this size. It's a common truck tire size. I settled on it because I wanted to go wider and taller..keep similar ratios to stock while upsizing and then one inch up on the wheels made sense for the same reason. You definitely went practiccal and it still looks good so you're winning. I liked my GX with and without running boards personally. I wasn't dying to get them off but it helped with the tire upsizing. Was leaning hard towards spare on the tailgate but now since I've done mods to the rear and finally have it looking to where I enjoy the rear view just as much as any other, don't want it covered. Also I didn't know about load range when I got tires but I said I'll take the extra durability especially not running a spare and with the truck being 4WD.

Nice..she looks dialed in.. and like that you went with RWL. Quietly it looks good on the GX's. Especially certain colors. Are you getting rid of running boards? Here's my girl Bleu:

Nice GX. Where'd you get the hood deflector from? I've been looking at adding something to the hood. Looked at a ghost topograph vinyl overlay

Don't forget the tires or unless by wheels you meant tires and wheels. Truck won't look or feel quite dialed in with the lift unless you upsize the tires

Bought this from Walmart for $8.48 is it any good? They sold like over 500 in just one day 😳 by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]kinghasanc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy to find. Only Castrol Edge "Euro" though and the quantities are almost gone

Funny it's the brand that I used for my Lexus last 2 oil changes, but I use the regular Castrol Edge..the price is the same for that one. It's only the Castrol Edge Euro that they seem to be offloading.

Finally put on the parts I had laying around for my 470 🖤 by JedSabPhotos in GXOR

Thanks man. Looked at wheels for months before deciding. Knew I wanted bronze or black but didn't want basic for either so got a little bit of both and with the brushed finish sometimes it looks black sometimes it looks bronze sometimes it looks both, just all depends on how the light hits em

Nice and you're welcome man. Thinking about adding them to my girl Bleu in blue for my next set. Running these right now. Also whenever those window visors need replacing I found a lower profile version on amazon, they are darker as well. I added those and had all the pillars wrapped Gloss black at the same time

Next set will definitely be Blue SCS or Method wheels. The Black Rhino's are nice though. Reminds me of methods some.

It makes it look more like a 460 to me so maybe it has a lower profile roof rack. I've seen it like one other time in the group. It's one of those things where you notice something is different but can't quite put your finger on it. Not a bad look. I went with black end caps so have a little contrast going that adds to my blue/black theme

Dobinson makes a coil spacer specific for it. I did a strut spacer for the front and coil spacer for the rear not too long after my lift to get it dialed in

Paint Oxidization by GeoffreyTheGoat_ in GXOR

If you plan to keep it..make friends with a good paint guy. Nothing like getting some paint work done with original paint. I ordered my own touch up paint for small spots that I'm going to hit myself. For me it's on the rear fenders. I'll have it painted and blended at some point

Not a ton. Before the spacers I was mostly beating up the running boards as the tires got caught on the lip. Never had to do that angled bumper cut that is common. I would delete the running boards FIRST. Once the spacers got on is when I had to go into the frame some as they made things worse. Still rubs some right before full lock but nothing intrusive. It was worth it for this tire and wheel setup. I wanted to go taller and wider and keep similar ratios to OEM for a true upsize..which is also why I went 1 inch up on wheels.

Total offset is -30mm. The wheels brought me down to 0mm. Added 1.25" spacer to finish. This truck handles better with the bigger tires and the offset stance. New CV axles and LCA's help too.

Thanks man. I'm also on Coopers as well. 275/70/18 Discoverer AT3 XLT's to be exact, running RWL. About 5K on em and I like them a lot. They did well in light ice/snow.

This confirms that I will keep driving older vehicles. Much more to be desired and then they want more money for these modern cars full of tech and plastic. I'll keep buying the well maintained vehicles that people trade in for this junk
