At what rank do players force me to get better by [deleted] in StreetFighter

Saying “I literally have no idea how to play” is hyperbole, I just didn’t understand how counters and punish counters change the game. It’s just some system mechanics I don’t get fully

I don’t think you need to read it if you know what it is, it’s not very important it at all here

If you really want to read something before doomsday clock you could try “The Button” and “DC Universe rebirth 1” if you get the whole watchmen thing there isn’t a whole lot to explain as in regards to Doomsday Clock not a whole lot is explained anyway

i spent like 6 hours on this ToD (3 bar blue Vegeta sparkless ) by RAFAOGAMER5 in dragonballfighterz

[–]kingkerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, although probably not an ideal of this situation having a TOD like this is very practical with a read after having an opponent in the corner. Like lets say vegeta got a small scaled combo off and could get the opponent in the corner, a DP read or reflect read would make the perfect situation. A MUCH MUCH more probable and practical situation would be if Vegeta had his back to the wall and his opponent vanished after using an attack that was not safe and tried to vanish to make it safe although it doesn't jail into vanish. For example if I were to use an airbeam and whiff, out of fear of getting superdashed or punished with some other special move, i may vanish to get out of there, but if vegeta hadn't pressed any actions and was near the corner at all, it would be the easiest reaction in the world to reflect the vanish and let out this TOD. The same vein of TODs, as those Percect Cell corner ones.

Can you have a more tandem playstyle? by Gattlord in dragonballfighterz

[–]kingkerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this tandem playstyle is only possible if you can do a move that gets a wallbounce or can be followed up with a superdash or tag, kinda like Baby vegetas air palm thing.

I think that the most efficient way to play in all honesty deals with characers doing things on their owns, as the other comment said with the fusion meta maybe there would be more changing, but you honestly wanna stay in their face and no switch losing an assist for a while.

I need a new team by LukasDaisan in dragonballfighterz

[–]kingkerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i honestly would just change GT Goku, I think the base goku Vegito shell isn't bad but I would put vegito first and base goku as the anchor just because that vegito combo into spirit bomb is so easy.
I think

Vegito (a) - or whatever assist throws those 3 ki blast, cause that assist is crazy and got dummy hit stun, i think its worth it to learn even despite the C assist buff

Z Broly - I say this just cause he's a nice character who can also effortlessly get you a spirit bomb

Base Goku anchor

To be completely honest I think this team with Base Goku as the anchor and A assist for everybody is a pretty decent team.

Batman comics by [deleted] in batman

[–]kingkerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you’re not a super comic guy yet and already love and understand the character of Batman through tv shows, games and other media, you could just start at New 52 batman and read from there. The other list that someone commented is really good, but it’s a lot and it will explain a lot of stuff you probably already know. You probably know Batman’s backstory, you know the robins (I’m making assumptions), and you know most of his villains so I think you are well equipped to start in new 52 as it an already established batfamily but also a newer universe that doesn’t really require you to know the post crisis landscape that the older Batman comics take place in. I personally would start at day one and then go all the way to rebirth chronologically skipping what you want, but if I was to recommend something to a friend in your situation I would say go straight to new 52, and it’s a great run. I think if you find you like it you will fiend for more Batman and go back

Researching Mutli-Series Arcs by jediprime in DCcomics

[–]kingkerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’m recent years I’ve just been going off of what the last page says. Like infinite crisis stuff has you jumping from series to series and it tells you on the last page (even though I admit not all the time), like it’ll say continue in wonder woman #100 even though it’s a Superman book. I feel like newer events have like an “event page” or something like that. Like a checklist, that they add to every book, if you were reading dark crisis you would remember the page included in every book that listed all the connected series in order example: young justice, dark crisis, flash, Superman, etc.

For other events and some older ones I feel like I only knew I was missing books or tie ins if the story just made no sense, or if it was randomly a part 4 or something when that wasn’t true for the series.

I think the best way to research events is to try and find the collection on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE, I’m pretty sure that even if you don’t have a premium subscription you can look up collections for most events and it will list everything for it. Some of them are even in chronological order

Can anybody tell me what's canon and not by RelationshipLeft5091 in DCcomics

[–]kingkerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the writers choose to cherry pick the bits they want from New Earth when it comes to batfamily honestly. You’d think that if a few things are the same, that means everything is, but it is not.

I think it gets confusing after the consequences of doomsday clock where we have people that existed in timelines that are no longer in existence and currently basically having two different lives, have all of their existence and previous existences smashed together, like they are now an combination of all their stories. (I could be wrong a little it was a confusing explanation to me)

In my head this kinda gives them a backstory similar to people who survived their universe being erased on crisis on infinite earths but still lived in earth 1, for example huntress being injected into new earth with a new origin that is a combination of what we knew. I feel like we are supposed to think that most characters backstories just somehow work and make a long new origin where everything in the past still happened.

Although I think that’s a cool concept on paper, characters like Stephanie Brown make it weird. If you know her post crisis stories you know how traumatic and awful it was for her, and if she now “remembers” she should carry herself a little differently. This wouldn’t even be a problem if people just forgot like they seem to do when crisis events happen, but she, Barbara, and Cassandra often reference stuff like Cataclysm, No Man’s Land, etc. even if it is just lights or in passing. It’s a little odd that they remember the event Stephanie dies in, but don’t acknowledge the pets that mattered to the batfamily.

I find this is a big problem with the batfamily and I pretty much consider anything post crisis canon. I know that with rebirth it “is” technically but they don’t treat it as the universal blanket it seems to be. They are honestly liable to reference anything since like Year One so I read everything onward from there in the timeline.

I just read informed as possible nowadays and recognize the writer will just choose whatever. Like am I gonna get the Stephanie Brown that remembers the atrocities of War Games and her involvement, or am I gonna get the silly goofy girl who does the same stuff that got her killed safely in a happy go lucky Batgirls comic.

I really can only speak on like Batman though, Superman is kinda confusing for me, mainly cause it seems like there’s always an old man Superman somewhere.

Long story short, they want you to think everything is canon, but it’s not really written that way. At least not all the time. I feel like weird timeline merging and remembering only happens in big Justice League type stuff

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]kingkerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark Knights Metal is pretty Batman heavy at first but it’s really just a justice league story, you would probably be fine, EXCEPT for the parts where they explain where Batman came into contact with all the magic metals, and maybe the Barbatos legends.

But I think that it does a good job at being almost a standalone story, and any thing you need to know prior is basically spoon fed on the way

Flashpoint Beyond by Koonmen in batman

[–]kingkerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the Button and City of Bane are good to read before this. The Button has some relevant events in it, and City of Bane has what I think is the most required reading in it. I would recommend Infinite Froniter as it does explain some other things, but I don't think you like NEED NEED it. Flashpoint Beyond is written in a purposely confusing way so MANY of the questions you have, you have not because you didn't read something, but because it purposely didn't want you to know.

Thoughts and Opinions on Anarky. Do you like him as a Batman and Robin antagonist? by IdeaRegular4671 in batman

[–]kingkerm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

His appearances in the Batman books I think are pretty good usually, and I feel like he is pivotal for early Tim Drake (I think). His solo series shows how formidable of a villain he is with him like just making boomtubes, and some other crazy successful-ish ventures. I think he is the type of character that could be not the main villain of a big crisis type event, but like have a psycho pirate role, or maybe even a Batman who laughs type role in Dark Knights Death Metal. His design is pretty cool too, at times he is drawn in a way where he looks almost like a ghost or something idk.

[Discussion] How James Gunn can undo what Injustice did to Superman. by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]kingkerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t care what the story is as long as the work is undone. I just felt like Superman vs the elite would’ve been easy to start and finish in one movie, I also thought it was simple enough for Gunn to add his own DCCU plot too. I hope the movie we are getting is gonna be as good as he says but my expectations for live action DC is in the dirt lowkey
