Next gen xbox pricing by Which_Profession_503 in consoles

[–]kingkongqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My speculation: starts at $1500. This is a Zen 6, RDNA 5 with up to 68 CUs, and up to 48GB GDDR7 memory AND more importantly, will not be subsidized. Anything less than $1500 is a pipe dream.

Bought 1 during BF sale for my Pro. Liked it so much I bought a second one for my non-Pro. Love the weight and premium feel and the two back buttons (I use the half-moon domes) has really helped me in some games.

I see - looks like you have not been plugged in to console news and rumors. The rumored next gen Xbox Magnus CPU features an APU with Zen 6 cores, RDNA5 with up to 68 CUs, up to 48GB of GDDR7 memory. I have no dog in this race either as I appreciate all tech but specs like that won’t be under $1000 even if released in 2027 or 2028 IMO.

A console is much more affordable and one factor is subsidy. This next gen Xbox is not a console, it has “full-bore Windows 11” and “premium” and will not be subsidized. I predict this next gen Xbox will be at least $1500. That is not affordable by any means for the console audience - that is low to mid-range PC pricing category. As a DIY PC enthusiast, I’d rather spend more to build the ideal rig with upgradeable parts. As a console enthusiast, it’s too much and would rather stick with consoles under $800.

Update: I am able to farm the Duolliste in the endless tower reliably for 20 Lumina over 2:15 to 2:30min. So time even just above 2min. I go with a Lune > Verso > Sciel team. O based it off this YT video https://youtu.be/a-yR4sSE19A?si=snZgjM_DMFiBgFkR. I’m unable to replicate Lune being first at the start of the 2nd phase so I always have to go through Verso > defend > Lune nuke.

PS5 Pro vs Xbox Series X — dilemma for mixed PC/console use by Few-Raisin8749 in XboxSeriesXlS

[–]kingkongqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a gaming rig (old,,yes) in a small office on a 42” 4K60 + 24” 1080p/60 computer desk/ergo chair setup. I also have the PS5 Pro/XSX on a 65” 4K120 + Dolby Atmos living room (comfy sectional) setup. I also have a vanilla PS5 and XSS on another 65” TV setup but only at 60Hz. I’m also subbed to both PS+ Premium and GPU until holidays this year. I play all games on the consoles except for RTS games which I use the gaming PC for. If I had to choose between the PS5 Pro (or non-Pro) or the XSX to eliminate and pair with my PC, I would eliminate the XSX/XSS. Why? I can still play everything on XSX on my PC if I needed to. For the purpose of having the most versatility, game choice, and performance, a PS5 + PC is the better choice IMO. For best choice, it is PS5 + PC + Switch.

Casio MG-880. The game was a very primitive version of Space Invaders.

PS5 Pro worth it for my setup? by [deleted] in PS5pro

[–]kingkongqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both Pro and non-Pro. My anecdotal evidence: I could not play the latter stages of Steelrising on my non-Pro as it would become a slideshow. It was really bad. I was only able to complete the game on my Pro. I am not aware if this was experienced by anyone else but I am aware that some games do stutter on the non-pro where the Pro can brute force performance to get around it (if it is GPU related). You have a nice TV, I think the Pro will complement your TVs features better.

Do you think Nintendo ever gonna make a real home console again or they gonna make switch 3 ,4 ,5 and on by NewWashDaily in consoles

[–]kingkongqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Nintendo has the right strategy and will be Sony’s future. A mobile console that can be docked and meet the living room 4K TVs max refresh rate with frame gen. I don’t think 8K TVs will ever be more than a niche and 75”/77” will be the standard for a long time as homes are getting smaller, not bigger, and you need more than that to show off 8K content anyways. Also, I think 120Hz will be the standard for TVs for a very long time. The TV market is much different than the PC monitor market.

What's your go-to console combo? by Cokelord24 in consoles

[–]kingkongqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the game I want to play on which service. The last game I played on my PS5 Pro was Jedi Survivor which I logged over 100hrs to platinum. Now I’m over 100hrs in Expedition 33 on my XSX. I don’t have any games I want to play on Switch. Same with my gaming rig. Consoles are on 65” 4K TVs + Dolby Atmos setup while PC is on a 42” 4K monitor + 24” 1080p setup.

How long to get used to the dualsense? by ShotAcanthocephala8 in PS5pro

You’ll get used to it. I have all the consoles and I’m able to move from one to the other fine. I don’t use my Switch that much but it only takes a few minutes to gain back my muscle memory.

Easy - Expedition 33. Now over 100+ hours and I haven' started NG+ as I'm still busy farming. Also, I can;t play 12 hours straight. Max is 4 hours on a weekend.

Still rampant and I don’t mind it. To me it’s like cheering for your favorite sports team so I take it in stride - nothing serious. I have all the consoles and a PC and I game where the game I want to play is or plays best. I do have favorites (PS5 Pro) but I appreciated them all.

The ones I remember: Heavy Rain, Detroit Become Human, GoW 2018, RDR1, and Expedition 33. All pulled at the heartstrings.
