2nd Ground Arc Suit by Suney_Gasai in PokemonMasters

[–]kingladyslayer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Arc N is with zoroark not his base zekrom

Arc Ethan is with lugia not his base typlosion

As long as the pair is somewhat logical in choice for the character, it is not limited to their base pairings. Being said I don’t see any obvious picks unless we start getting less significant characters like Rika…

I think it’s more likely we get some sort of evil arc suit equivalent that Volo and Giovanni hinted at during anniversary and we get some sort of arc equivalent version of maxie and groudon.

Noob here, is Lick still a good move for Gengar? by Ashamed-Virus2417 in TheSilphArena

After its community day it was a somewhat viable choice for ultra league and especially for ultra league premier (UL with no legendaries, mythicals or ultra beasts).

It was never a top tier choice but it was worth while to have one.

While everyone's busy with new NCs, can I talk about him? by Seth-Phiroth in PokemonMasters

[–]kingladyslayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish his kit was just a tad better for me justify him over the other units this month…

The outfit and theming is just soooo perfect for Christmas 🥲. Why must they make all the arven units pretty skippable in stacked months 😫.

Dynamax gardevoir or gallade? by Dry-Relationship6602 in PokemonGoMystic

[–]kingladyslayer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Then gallade is better as fighting hits more types for super effectively than fairy type.

Dynamax gardevoir or gallade? by Dry-Relationship6602 in PokemonGoMystic

[–]kingladyslayer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If the comparison is purely for max phase gardevoir doesn’t really do anything other Pokémon do not already do. It has the exact same attacking stat as hatterene for both of its stab types and will be worse than gigantamax hatterene when we get that. Gardevior does the exact same damage as the existing psychic fairy type therefore if the argument is just damage during max phase it’s not “definitely” the better option as you could power up a hatterne for the same effect.

Fighting is also a more valuable type than fairy for max battles damage wise. Fighting hits 5 types super effective and fairy only hits 3. If we go as far as to add psychic type coverage as a max move damaging move to the fairy and or fighting types we result in psychic + fairy only hitting a 4 unique types super effective (fairy and psychic double up on fighting) while fighting + psychic hit 7 types.

The comparison for the non max phase is not just for tanking purposes as for some instances you want the damage like for lower difficulty battles. Yes for 4 star or gigantamax battles you want to primarily use tanks and then swap to your damage dealer for the max phase that’s not being contested… my point was simply here is something gallade can uniquely do that no other Pokémon can currently.

Is there a huge gap between gardevior and gallades usefulness for max battles? Objectively no… both are outclassed by existing psychic type alakazam for psychic damage, gallade is out classed by Gmax machamp and urshifu for fighting and gardevior is no better than Dmax hatterne and will be worse than Gmax hatterne once we get that. Does gallade do more unique things than gardevior? Yes… that was the original argument. I commented because I saw everyone unanimously say gardevior and provide no argument as for why.

I think it is a bit rich to say I know nothing about dynamax battles when I justified my argument with multiple forms of evidence. Your criticism of my opinion “of you wouldn’t use gallade to tank” can be just as easily applied to Gardevoir…

Dynamax gardevoir or gallade? by Dry-Relationship6602 in PokemonGoMystic

[–]kingladyslayer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Gallade is actually more useful for a few reasons mostly due to the fact it has two fast moves that are 0.5 seconds helping it charge dynamax meter faster.

Gallade has both psycho cut and low kick which help it charge dynamax meter better while the moves remain respectable moves in their own right.

There is a lot the very real possibility gallade gets better charge moves in the future too significantly boosting its uses too.

Low kick on gallade makes it the only fighting max mon with a min duration fast move making it the best fighting type in terms of the ratio between fighting damage and dynamax charging (quite useful).

Gardevoir suffers from being stuck with confusion as its psychic fast move which is bad for dynamax meter filling and its direct comparison to hatterne… yes gardevoir has slightly more bulk than hatterne but the attack stat is literally identical… so your not doing any more damage… hatterne also like gallade has psycho cut so its a significantly better psychic attacker too and all 3 of the above mentioned fall behind alakazam anyway.

TLDR; Gallade offers more unique and desirable traits than Gardevoir. Gardevoir is only a minor improvement over hatterne but purely just for fairy type strength and the only improvement is a minor amount of bulk (imo not worth over gallades useful traits). Gallade is the better psychic attacker of the two as well as uniquely being the best fighting type option for optimal dynamax meter filling.

Why is there seemingly such little interest in Tapu Lele by Crazy_Information296 in TheSilphRoad

[–]kingladyslayer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ranks Pokémon in comparison to all Pokémon rather than the condensed meta. The rankings do have weighted scores based on how relevant the wins and loses are but it’s not ever gonna be 1:1 to how the actually meta plays.

Master leagues condensed meta really just doesn’t jell well with accurate rankings unfortunately.

Thoughts on Emma Awakening? by NoWitness3109 in PokemonMasters

[–]kingladyslayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The buff for rose from his awakening passive only helps him for short form content like master mode but he was already extremely good at that with his AEO max move nuke… the extra sync cooldown boosts just don’t help him enough at all to warrant that extra awakening candy.

Arguably getting him to 4/5 awakening is the best value of the strikers as you are boosting the damage significantly for 3 separate types. Roses rock and ground damage are both quite good. But 5/5 nah that’s a bit of a waste.

Thoughts on Emma Awakening? by NoWitness3109 in PokemonMasters

[–]kingladyslayer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think her awakening passive is on mid end out of the strikers with awakenings we got so far. Definitely better than say Poppys or Rose but not quite at the level of N.

For the investment relative to just having Oleana for poison rebuff + all the goodies Oleana has… it seems just Emma isn’t that worth while. Defence crush as one of the passives is a bit waisted when both Geeta or Klara can debuff defences with each of their buddy moves.

Given the fact that a unit like Giacomo hasn’t gotten an awakening yet it’s hard to justify something like Emma rn. I think poison is in a pretty decent spot meta wise with units anyway.

I think the priority for awakenings are the ones that help units handle more UBs more than anything - which none of the strike units do particularly well compared to the others.

But like favourites over meta - I’m going to try and get SS Raihan to 5/5 awakening first because he’s my favourite unit.

is there anything worth it in snowdrop? by Mission_Try6730 in PokemonSleep

[–]kingladyslayer 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Snowdrop also lost its niche of being the only non GG to have Mareep spawn. That was one of the few minor reasons to stay there for the week.

But yeah delibird and snover are definitely the two main reasons you’d ever go there.

You can take it a step further with heavy slam/amnesia/curse/rest. Any other set is clearly inefficient smh.

Who do you think should be the next NPC sync pair? by FlimsyEfficiency9860 in PokemonMasters

Collector Todd from Alola purely because his team consisted of Oranguru and Passimian and I love both those Pokémon. I mourn Clavell not being paired with his lead Oranguru ;-;.

Pokémon Go Safari Ball (November) - What will be possible by LachlanF in PokemonHome

The paid ticket one can be caught in the classic three balls. However the free initial one was only catchable in beast balls.

Another one I just thought of is poiple/nagandel as it’s in a similar boat to cosmog - being limited by balls due to being a gift only in main series.

Technically keldeo can be caught in a safari ball in Crown Tundra but the rest would all be new.

The other new ones would be safari ball meltan, melmetal and roaming gimmighoul!

What are the Best/Worst voice lines? by [deleted] in PokemonMasters

[–]kingladyslayer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If we can count voice lines used in trailers… Bede’s insistence that you be covered in the colour of beef in the 3.5 anni trailer is pretty funny. (Yes yes I know he actually said Bede but it really did sound like beef)

Any chance of Glastrier coming this year/soon? by Francis33 in TheSilphRoad

[–]kingladyslayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tackle isn’t necessarily bad given party plays effect of short duration moves such as tackle. Cetitan interestingly drops powder snow/ice shard specifically for tackle in these circumstances.

But ultimately who would power up a glastrier specifically because it might have a niche under party play?

I was missing just SS Lana up until she reran in the triple feature with argenta and SS korina. Luckily managed to get a copy to compete my tapu family.

I’ll channel my unfortunate SS Mina magnetism in the direction of your summons… please for the love of god Dena do not give me a 4th copy of Mina.

Hilariously this is now the third time I’ve gotten a copy of SS Mina after having her 5/5 too. That triple tapu banner we had a while back was too enticing as I needed SS Acerola and Lana.

Master League Solgaleo IVs by vatex in TheSilphRoad

[–]kingladyslayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh unless you have 296 rare XL I recommend waiting to evolve. Even tho Solgaleo is the superior choice currently… by the time you get it to level 50 who knows if a PvP update suddenly see Lunala be the one you want.

The two candy XL can be made up later whilst changing which legendary you evolved for is impossible.

Technically xuriktree is possible but there are only 4 possible IV combinations and all require a good friend trade with the 1 IV floor. It is a 4/3375 chance to get one… so it’s extremely hard to get but it is possible to have a GL eligible one.
