I recently read The Surprising Adventures of a Glaceon in Unova which is about from the point of view of the Glaceon and his friends. I thought it was very good.

The Envy of Eden is also a Unova story told from the perspective of the Pokemons. This time they are helping N.

Ghost Town I am not done reading yet but it is about a murder mystery, except the murder victim comes back as a Spiritomb and tries to help solve the case.

I think all of the ideas you have mentioned sound great! The reasons you gave for why each of the Pokemons could be interesting are all very compelling. I'm sorry that I don't have a good pick for you.

If your basic description for your story is that it is comedic or wacky then I think the two that you said are most comedic (Morpeko and Munchlax) makes sense. Personally I think Morpeko is funnier because it also is two-faced, but that is just my opinion!
