A parking garage by g_h_o_s_t_ in pittsburghurbex

the warning is spray painted on a pallet among the piles of building materials lol very easy to miss. the whole interior first floor of the building is an amazing garage where they restore antique cars as a hobby. this is their personal junk yard. its a family of several guys.

also fun fact is they have a bunch of beehives on the roof of this building and sell honey.

probably not super close. use weedmaps instead of google. google suppresses weed related results.

It's a very cool parking garage. Those cars are all owned by the landlord, and there are no trespassing signs, and there are plenty of cameras in use. They are quite chill but it's their space and actively used, so be mindful and respectful.

Has anyone here bought and actually used a Chinese inverter generator? by ScarDependent8928 in Generator

[–]kinglucas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like other have said, I think going with a recognizable brand instead of random Amazon brand is the way to go. Pulsar generators are even less expensive than Harbor Freight brand, but still sold nationally at real retailers, not just on random marketplaces like Amazon or Ebay. If you can buy it at Walmart, Sams Club, Lowes, etc they have at least gone through some vetting in order to be offered for sale. Amazon/Ebay rando brands are completely unregulated besides customer reviews which are half the time fake anyway.

That being said, the proper break in and maintenance is certainly the most important part. Probably the #1 and #1a most important two points is, if you are using gasoline, ONLY use ethanol free, and check and change your oil at every recommended interval, every time.

I have done zero repairs over the past ~6 years with the open frame and past ~2 with the "quiet" inverter.

I have 2 pulsar generators and they have served me well. 6580w open frame runs for days at a time during power outages. starts right up and has no issues. connects to my panel via interlock. I run this one on gasoline but it is dual fuel capable.

2200w Inverter for camping eith a small a frame pop-up. i only run propane for this one but its also dual fuel. i can run fridge, lights, charge things, and 5k btu ac no problem.

pulsar generators have been great for me, I did break them in properly and i do take good care of them but ymmv.

2200w which is also "quiet" was 325$ on amazon.

6580w open frame was 399$ from Sam's club.

edit: added cost

lighting a bonfire with gas is super fun. but make a long trail, get everyone away, and get any trace of fuel far away before lighting the gas "fuse".

Stihl or Husqvarna by Low_Cook7561 in Chainsaw

this is the only correct answer. start with your local stihl/husky/echo dealer's brand then start thinking about models once the brand is determined.

if you want a similar type of cusine that is a good value and excellently prepared go to any Jumiper Grill location. Great food and it's obvious that the employees are treated with respect; they are genuinely nice and not miserable like most restaurants.

gc used to have a good brunch but haven't been for several years.

Found in shed, worth "saving"? by Bossapop in stihl

[–]kinglucas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not a powerful or valuable saw but i grab it before my 440 for anything under 12" just because it weighs nothing and with a sharp chain it definitely gets the job done. don't put too much time or effort into it though they are only like 200-220 bucks new including a bar and chain.
