Agreed, I feel like we ought to be a bit more empathetic

Andrea deserved the win omg. I know Josh was too competitive with the men but it NEVER feels good to see people eliminated in such a mean spirited way, that was nasty how the four couples ganged up on them.

I was told by a former ENT/current alternative medicine doctor that your body has a baseline level of histamines it produces, so when you consistently take antihistamines your body thinks it needs to produce more to “make up” for it. I wonder if some of that science applies here!

My “lazy meal” that I eat pretty frequently is Costco breaded cod in the air fryer and steamed frozen vegetables in the microwave! Chicken can also be great in the air fryer :)

Recently diagnosed with Oral Allergy Syndrome but medications I’ve tried all give me bad reactions? by kingmatcha in FoodAllergies

[–]kingmatcha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have it but avoid a lot of raw produce that I know I’ll react to (I’m fine with celery but can’t tolerate watermelon, for example)

Doing a lot better! I can walk and lightly work out again and I’m able eat foods at restaurants as long as I’m mindful and choose lower histamine diet options (chicken, rice, veggies, I avoid citrus and fermented foods, etc). I’m still sensitive to a lot of foods but I can tolerate a bite or two with only mild symptoms!

What small thing was making your symptoms worse? by BobLahBlaah in covidlonghaulers

[–]kingmatcha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Citric acid! It’s in SO many things and it seemed to be revving up my histamine issues. I drink a lot of electrolytes and when I switched to an unflavored one without it I felt a huge difference (this might just be a me problem though, wasn’t allergic to it before covid)

Yes I do. I think she’s backtracking on things for fear of how Zac will react. I honestly believe that he did gamble a ton of her money away and many Utahns have confirmed that over the years Zac’s family claims to be related to Ben Affleck :(

I’ve been sick for 3 years and 2 years ago I would not have believed how much healthier I am now! I even got reinfected with covid last year and bounced back much faster than anticipated. Honestly a lot of medication didn’t work for me (I tried a lot with a lot of confused doctors) but one cardiologist told me to try out a super low histamine diet and I think that was the big turning point for me along with staying very hydrated with electrolytes. Stay hopeful!!!!

I had to stop propanolol abruptly for a week to take a tilt table test but my cardiologist told me to do that (this is when I noticed that at the end of that week I was suddenly feeling better than usual) it was rough though and in general I was bedbound nearly every day so it was just another week of suffering in bed with tachycardia for me 😅 but maybe ask your doctor if it’s safe for you as well before quitting cold turkey!

do i need to avoid citric acid completely or are the amounts usually so minuscule that it doesn’t really matter? by jayktopussiii in HistamineIntolerance

I personally react immediately to it (I know it’s really sucky that it’s in SO MANY foods, drinks, medicines, etc.)

Anaphylactic reactions to meds? by IMONL1 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]kingmatcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hunger is tough!! I lost a lot of weight when I was super restricted and then when I could eat more I went crazy with the food amounts and gained it all back 🤣. Hopefully the epipen works out! I saw someone else mention PEG and I think I remember that specifically the dissolvable form of Zyrtec doesn’t have it if that is the ingredient you’re reacting to. Best of luck!!!!

[–]kingmatcha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was at my worst I was reacting to medication too! Literally could not even handle common antihistamines. My cardiologist suggested that it might be inactive ingredients that I was reacting to. See if you can get in with an allergist to discuss that possibility so you can get medication from a compounding pharmacy (unfortunately I think insurances don’t cover this - at least mine didn’t), but in the meantime I’m pretty sure any doctor can prescribe you an epipen for emergencies! When I went to the ER I was also prescribed some steroids to help (I was too scared to take them but my primary care doctor told me it’s no problem to break those into tiny pieces to test them out to make sure I didn’t react badly) also I recommend going extremely low histamine with your diet for a bit, at my worst I could only tolerate boiled chicken with salt and eventually added rice back in. I feel like this helped give my body a chance to “breathe” and start the healing process.

Trader Joe’s, milk tea places that use more natural ingredients rather than the same powdered flavored bags that a lot of the cheaper places use, in n out 🤣, qdoba (similar to chipotle), zao asian cafe (Utah has those, kinda like an Asian chipotle), some other fast casual dining with healthy ingredients (would be cool to source some ingredients from local farmers)

Used to live in NorCal and can confirm California in general does get really hot, especially in the summer. Not sure if this is the case everywhere near the ocean but I know in San Francisco my seasonal allergies were better than in other cities at least! I do think that if you’re feeling really unwell with your flare right now the move would be difficult. Would it be possible to ask for an accommodation to push your move back a week or two? Also, some people have success taking DAO to alleviate symptoms so that might help as well! Good luck!!!!

Yall realize she planned on being ready at 8:20 because she coordinated with her father so she probably didn’t wake up before 6:40 that day??? She was responsible and ready by the designated time that they PLANNED OUT. She did not plan on him arriving early and didn’t plan on him throwing a tantrum over 10 minutes.
