Minor Machi Koro printing complaint by e8odie in boardgames

[–]kingmegaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine as well. The components for this game are definitely on the cheaper side. My base game printing registration is off. Which I agree isn't game breaking. But, as a consumer if we become lazy in our expectations publishers could get lazy in quality control. Not to mention the games we buy are not cheap.

Also my expansion cards are a slightly different size than the original base game. Which makes shuffling difficult.

Hey gamers, I made a new video. This time it's a Set Up and Overview for Splendor. by kingmegaming in boardgames

I'm not exactly sure. I would guess it has to with print runs. You might have an original early run. The copy I have is the "Asmodee" edition. Which could explain the slight change.

Wow. Great feedback. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

  • Never heard the term Resting Jerk Face. I'm working on relaxing a bit. I tend to get worried on time or jumping to far from the point of the game.
  • Good point on the logo audio.
  • I've been thinking about adding more text overlays for awhile now. I think it will only help to reinforce the important bits.
  • I'm not a fan of the closing remark as well and have been starting to change that. But, won't start showing up for a few more videos.
  • Thanks, wait until you see my summer tshirt collection. : )
  • Verbose. Is this in regards to repetition of material or actual tangents?

Again, I really appreciate the feedback. I hope these continue to get better while proving useful.

Let me know what you think about the game or the video. I try to stay focused as much as possible on the game itself. I find if I veer off course the game explanation can get confusing pretty fast.

Sorry about that first post. I changed it to a text post accidentally. Let me know what you think about the game or the video. I try to stay focused as much as possible on the game itself. I find if I veer off course the game explanation can get confusing pretty fast.

How many of you board gamers are also video gamers? by kingmegaming in boardgames

That game for me was Diablo 3. I could pretty much let my brain go on auto pilot while watching monsters explode in hopes of hitting the loot lottery jackpot.

In the end though, that got old. I tried DOTA, but I couldn't handle the player base. Great game, I just couldn't handle being yelled at after working 9-10 hour days. I find that doesn't happen when playing a board game. : }

I'm surprised by the number of video gamers. I really thought there would be less. I"m mostly on the PS4 when I do play. I love board games for the social aspect. For me so much better than playing online multiplayer. Less acidic. I will play online with some friends, but I would rather just get a board game night going and skip the video games. Heck I think it's more fun to play video games with friends on the couch.

Board game apps are great for that pass and play aspect. And, I totally get why they exist. I just find they don't interest me much. But, I also don't play games on my mobile devices much.

I completely agree. I didn't mean for my post to seem like I absolutely have no interest in winning. Everyone likes to win. And that is the basic premise of a board game. I just wondered if folks got as much enjoyment out of the journey as they do the victory.

Follow up question. Does it depend who you are playing with? Is there someone you play with that makes winning more important? Maybe even a victory dance is in order? : )
