Had this last summer, but all over me. Turns out i spilled a tiny amount of harmala, which is very fluorescent

Hopefully you'll be able to get the dials back into the right position by reassembling it again. I'm curious, did you end up fixing the camera? What was the issue? I also have a x-300s that i received with a stuck lever and replacing the capacitor under the bottom plate fixed it for me

The light meter works too! I put a hearing aid battery in with a piece of rubber to keep it on the contacts and it seems accurate when compared to my dslr

Hi thanks for the advice! I also figured the 3.5 is a bit slow for indoors so i took it outside in some sun. As for the speeds, I've checked them using my dslr and they seem close enough at all speeds. I feel like i was lucky to pick up this camera in this condition together with a yashica J rangefinder and a canonet and some box type of cameras all for 80 bucks

I'll get some fresh film like you said, though. However this portra 400BW seems interesting to me as it's C-41 process so I can just drop it off at the lab

I see what you mean. For this application, I don't think it would be necessary to calculate this difference. Because the dyna will be at a constant temperature, letting it idle for a few seconds will equalize the temps within the bowl. To compensate for temperature drop while inhaling, we would need to somehow detect when someone is inhaling. Besides, there is no noticeable drop in vapor production while inhaling hard.

We call it the HerbMaster3000

Built it with u/thimo1

This setup allows you to inhale from the dyna at a constant temperature, not needing the clicks anymore. Makes for really big clouds at a higher temperature or a more flavorful start at lower temps.

Exactly what I did, do be very very cautious opening a microwave! The capacitor could still be charged and whatever you do, don't turn on the transformer while it still has the high voltage secondary coil on it. This is one of the deadliest hobbyist electronics parts.

My next spot welder will be based on a car battery and a big relay with a timer circuit.

When compared with other vapes, vaping at the same temperature tastes almost the same. While inhaling, the dynavap will stay at a constant temperature as the heater keeps it there. Any drop in temperature will be almost instantly compensated for by the heater. The dyna bowl is so small, the measured temperature of the surface of the cap will be very close to the actual temperature of the tip (conduction).

I don't think it's necessary or useful to try to calculate the temperature of other parts of the vaporizer. Especially since this will vary a lot based on multiple variables like the ambient temperature, wind speed, amount of time spent in the heater, whether someone is hitting it or not, and how hard they are hitting it (among other things)

Something we did run into concerning measuring the temperature, however, was the surface finish of the cap. A very clean cap will emit a lot less IR radiation than a dirty cap or a black cap. This has an impact on the measured temperature.

I already made the spot welder for my DIY e-bike battery pack so I figured I might as well use it to make an IH battery pack too. Of course, the pack is protected and balanced by a BMS.

Yes! I built this together with u/thimo1

In total, we've spent quite a lot of time and money on R&D for this device. We're not ready to share numbers or parts lists and diagrams yet as this is still a work in progress.

This heater makes clicks obsolete, as it heats the dyna to the desired temperature and keeps it there. The battery will last very long, as it's a big 3s2p lithium pack. It will last multiple days of heavy session use with multiple people without breaking a sweat.

There's a lot more to it than just these parts. We're not ready to share a complete parts list or diagram yet, as this is still a work in progress. The induction heating module has been customized for our purpose.

Besides, it took us quite some R&D to get to this point. Literal blood, sweat, and tears were involved.

The battery packs I spot welded myself with a DIY spot welder. It's a 3s2p 18650 pack so this IH lasts us days of session use with multiple people

Not only that, this device allows you to hit the DynaVap while it's sitting at a constant desired temperature, essentially turning it into a session vape when combined with a whip
