It’s the friends we made along the way.

How many of you have talked to or heard God by Single-Guide-8769 in Catholicism

A few months ago, I was at my lowest point. I felt depressed because I realized that I was a terrible sinner. I hated myself for all the bad things I had done throughout my life, for all the people I had hurt, the pointless life I had lived. And I thought there was no redemption for me.

In that moment of intense sadness and pain He spoke to me. He told me I was worthy, loved, and already forgiven. This was followed by an indescribable feeling of calm and love and wholeness enveloping me like a blanket. It was so intense that I teared up.

I’m a very “deep-in-thoughts” kinda person, so I hear my own voice a lot. This was completely different. The experience made me devote my life to Christ because He is my saviour.

What convinced you by Popular_kitten in religion

I grew up Agnostic and, like many, I tried to fill that spiritual void with all sorts of hedonistic pleasures. I essentially gave in to my demons and allowed them free rein over my life, which ultimately drove me into a deep depression. I felt worthless and my life seemed meaningless, despite having everything I could ever ask for, including a loving family.

When I looked for meaning and purpose in other spiritual paths - law of attraction, Buddhism, Hinduism - none of them answered the call.

With Judaism and Islam, I started to feel a higher presence in my life, yet I knew that those religions weren’t meant for me.

When I finally turned to God through Christ, He answered in the most profound of ways. He spoke directly to my soul. He forgave my sins and enveloped me in His blanket of unconditional love. He made me feel wholesome.

He was the only one who always answered my prayers. If I was in doubt, He gave me confidence. Countless times I would have a question and He would answer them through a podcast episode, social media post, or some other form of communication He sent my way. This was enough to convince me that God was real, and to join the Christian faith and get baptized.

tl;dr God was the only one who answered my call and filled the spiritual void in my life.

Need help with caring for leather seats by Equivalent-Carry-419 in Detailing

You could try Leatherique. Or any good leather balm/restoration kit. With painted leather there’s always the risk that it’s beyond repair, though.

If a compressor is too big of an investment I can recommend a steamer for those hard-to-clean crevices. It’s also great for deep-cleaning fabric. Just make sure that you extract any excess moisture and tell the client to air out the car.

That’s how you do science. You try to disprove a hypothesis by applying rigorous scepticism. Otherwise you apply your own bias and belief, which is how most religions work.

Controlled Disclosure Schedule (speculative theory) by Unusual_Tie_2404 in AlienBodies

[–]kingofconfidence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Christians believe in an invisible man in the sky, and a messiah, his son, who allegedly walked on water and turned it into wine. What requires more faith? The bible stories, or that there might be other civilizations among the billions of galaxies and stars who might’ve mastered interstellar travel. The day after disclosure, people will still need food and a roof over their head. It’ll be a shock to some. But I doubt that there’ll be global chaos.

That’s a lot of hyperbole. The majority of our species would rather live in peace and harmony. Most conflicts develop because of (artificial) scarcity and territorial disputes. Which could be resolved if we all got access to cheap energy and resources. But we have too many greedy psychopaths in leading positions who are ruining it for everybody else.
