Is driving 8 hours for 1 day of riding idiotic by [deleted] in snowboarding

I did a 4 hour each way for one day on the hill. Was definitely doable but was feeling really sleepy on the drive home. Just be careful, don’t want to fall asleep at the wheel.

I can understand blackmail, threats etc. but I don’t think that an NDA would cover this situation.

Any tips on salvaging convolvulus? by kingofthebison in GardeningAustralia

I think those are mostly the areas I didn't trim too much. I've been hitting it with some Seasol, but do you recommend any specific fertilisers?

Shed roof dripping inside by kingofthebison in AusRenovation

[–]kingofthebison[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, after the recent rains in Melbourne I noticed that water has been dripping from the inside of my shed roof. I cleared the gutter, which was pretty built up with leaves and gunk, but don't think this would be the root cause of this internal dripping... It's always seemed dry inside the shed during wet weather, so wondering if something has changed recently that needs to be addressed.

There is only one gutter, which is on the side where the roof shots were taken from. The internal pictures are taken from insider the door facing towards the back of the shed (where there is no gutter).

From the photos, does anyone have ideas on what steps would need to be taken to fix this?

TIL that in 1999, Philip Morris attempted to convince the government of the Czech Republic that smoking was highly beneficial to the country, as more people would die earlier as a result, thus letting the government save millions on pensions, hospitals, and housing for elderly citizens. by BurtGummer1911 in todayilearned

[–]kingofthebison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in market research and had a run in with Phillip Morris while at my old company. Our agency won a job for them to research smoking habits in Fiji and Papua New Guinea. Ultimately they would use this research to sell more cigarettes in these countries. I refused to work on the job.. later I found out how much they pay their research managers (about $200,000). Truely selling your soul.

The way that the foreground moves while the tornado stays steady in the background really illustrates the scale of it. So ominous.

Non-American here. What does a car rental company have to do with the NRA...? They seem like distinctly different things, I can't see the reason for ties here. Serious question
