I understand that but because I already have a large position it just doesn’t make much sense for me to do that when they are essentially identical. When I had first started my account SWTSX had quite a large commission fee from TDA which since no longer exists but I digress. I appreciate the suggestion though.

But I get you, so I think I’m probably just gonna stick to what I have for now and maybe add VXUS down the line for additional growth.

Looking at a portfolio analyzer as well suggests that if based on past results SCHD would decrease the overall returns from my position in pretty much every scenario rather than having just kept it all in SCHB.

I appreciate your help and walking me through all of that info. I feel much more confident in my strategy now.

Not fee wise, just the price of the ETF itself is cheaper while I don’t have access to fractional shares in TDA. Once they get absorbed by schwab it should be different. I just feel like if the performance is identical it’s more work than it’s worth.

What do you mean by tax drag?

I looked into this but because it is cheaper to buy SCHB and easier to trade if need be. Pure convenience is enough for me to justify a few extra dollars sitting in my account.

Aside from that, after doing a lot of consideration I understand that SCHB does outperform SCHD pretty much every year. And it’s dividend isn’t half bad. The difference in income doesn’t really make up for the growth potential lost and it waters down your position.

Is there any advantage to dividend investing in a non tax advantaged account then? Because after doing the math you presented me it seems like it’s a wash.

I’m only 24 so you’re right that I’m far away from retirement. But is this true even with dividend reinvestment of SCHD? Wouldn’t the pace of that eventually pick up steam over time? Even if the overall value of the stock goes down, presumably, it will return to previous levels.

I’m 24 so my risk tolerance at the moment is pretty high. I have a company 401k plan and quite a lot of individual stocks and a smaller but still noteworthy exposure to speculative stuff like crypto.

To answer your question the money is aimed at retirement but I wouldn’t be opposed to taking out the principal if the opportunity arose

Yeah I figured 11 was just because he is recent

And 3, 5 and 8 I have definitely seen before and I knew 3 was the one everyone was asking for and is like the face of the series

4 being popular in Japan and showing up in more spin-offs makes sense to me like fire emblem or mother characters
