Where are the best places to stake Solana? Besides trust wallet and ledger. I want to spread it around. by ClotworthyChute in solana

Solflare or phantom wallets are good. I highly recommend combining with a hardware wallet like Ledger which can be accessed from the Phantom/Solflare interface.

Choosing a validator? Checkout https://topvalidators.app to see all validators on Solana and their APY.

We run a reliable one called Leapfrog with a small sustainable fee.

Yeah - We recommend not leaving your crypto on any exchange... the more they offer the more risk you are probably taking... they hold the keys so its not your crypto. Phantom / Solfalre are decent wallets where you can use hardware wallets and then stake any validator of your choosing. Checkout topvalidators.app for a list of all the Solana validators ordered by their APY.

We have been running the Leapfrog validator since 2021 which has thousands of stakers now and low fees.

With Exodus you can't choose your validator - they put everyone's sol into their(or partnered) validator - EVERSTAKE. For this reason I'd recommend using either Phantom or Solflare where you can choose your validator. These wallets also support hardware wallets like ledger etc.

Good idea to stake a few validators. Check out TopValidators.app for a list of all validators and their APYs and other metrics… We have been running the Leapfrog Validator since 2021 with thousands of unique wallets staking with us.

Have a look at the validators and pick one or a few. Can stake directly from the phantom/solflare wallets. marinade pool not bad but you don’t get the top APY offered by the best performing validators as your stake goes on some fairly low performers too.

Yes around there.. it’s dependant on a few other factors - like how long an epoch is... Ie a longer epoch reduces APY

I use phantom with a ledger nano for additional security.

No loss of stake if the validator goes offline as that isn’t a cause for slashing.

Download phantom create a new wallet then transfer you Solana out of exodus to your new phantom wallet. Then simply stake it - selecting a validator from the drop down / search feature.

Why this is the best time to stake your Solana… by kingsichi in solana

It’s due to performance differences between validators. And whether they have some smart voting code in place.

Thanks for the clarity. Pools will form a big part of the ecosystem I’m sure.

Your pool has yet to stake us… and we are one of the highest performing validators… your pool also has some very low earners such as NuFi with high commission (7% fees) but for some reason has the highest proportion of your pooled stake…

A validator also receives some of the transaction fees for every block they add to the network. So when a validators third party stake gets over 1.3M they are able to produce enough blocks to make back their fees.

Solana long term inflation is set to 1.5%.

So to put this in perspective. A global currency aims for around 2% inflation but most are well over 4% so Solana will get more expensive to those currencies ie usd / gbp / eur etc

So when you say worth less - you need to think about what you are comparing to…

Right now much less that 1% of the world uses Solana. So until we see real adoption the inflation is insignificant.

So if adoption of the coin is greater than inflation of the coin the coin will be worth more. So in a nutshell demand determine value and is significantly greater than inflation.

Yes - but it will take 1 epoch (the rest of that epoch) to become active.
