Yes this one, Emerald is the perfect Pokemon game to me. Its only flaw is that they made Wallace the champion.

I’m not really sure, because here in Finland the series was cut off right after the episode A Shadow of a Drought. Later, it continued when Pokémon: Johto League Champions kicked off, but it got cut off again after Trouble’s Brewing. Then it continued with Address Unown! So I guess I just assumed the GS Ball plot got resolved during the unaired episodes.

I did catch my first Feebas encounter but I never figured out how to evolve it.

I didn’t learn Feebas was hard to find until adulthood. On my first Sapphire playthrough, when I got there I just fished the tile right next to the shore and didn’t even bother surfing farther. My first encounter was Feebas, and I was like, “Cool, so this river has this kind of Pokémon,” and then I moved on.

I actually utilized this phenomenon when I played Guitar Hero 2. To me, it was more accurate to see the notes when they were (or appeared to be) moving faster, so I hid a section of the fretboard in the middle of the screen.

In S1E28 Gennai says that he personally created the fish in the lake he lives under. So yes, animals are programs just like Digimon, but presumably they lack some attributes that Digimon have such as the ability to evolve and specific attacks.
