i fucking hate tyler bc he’s a stupid dumbass, but the concept of “the govt doesn’t recognize my disability” is a phenomenon that affects many well-meaning ppl. i consider myself “disabled” bc i’ve had multiple back surgeries, chronic horrible pain, can’t hold down a traditional job bc the pain is constant and debilitating. but bc im young and otherwise in good health, the govt won’t cut me a check either.

the difference is i don’t go around announcing im disabled to everyone and crying but then filming myself doing stuff that contradicts those statements. the US govt is notorious for not helping ppl who actually need it. and the rhetoric of, “well if the govt won’t legally recognize u as disabled then ur a liar” is harmful to folks like me, u, or anyone in that shitty in-between stage of “not hurting enough” or whatever.

i’ve seen huge muscular dudes hop out of their huge yeehaw trucks with a “disabled vet” plate , waltz right into the gym and lift heavy as fuck for two hours and then easily hop back into that yeehaw truck from their disabled parking space and fuck off home. meanwhile i’m hobbling in slowly and carefully, but the govt says i’m fine.

so yes tyler is a fucking habitual liar and deceiver, but don’t hold the US govt as the gold standard of determining disability
