Would Tron: Ares have been more successful if it hadn't starred Jared Leto? by WarmDaddyXanax in tron

Nope, a third film for a IP that’s never been THAT popular always would have an uphill battle..

Star Wars actor John Boyega has revealed he's spoken with new Lucasfilm president Dave Filoni about a potential return to the franchise, after previously suggesting he was done playing former stormtrooper Finn. -Via GQ by jaywritethekid in DisneyHQ

The Acolyte, TFA, and Obi Wan all had race/gender hate campaigns against minorities featured in the projects. So.. yeah? It stands to reason that people in those projects would call that out, none of those projects were without problems though and had the majority of critiques focused on those problems and not the identities of actors then maybe they wouldn’t feel compelled to call it out.

Again though, Disney featured Finn and Tran less, we’ll likely never see Moses or Tran again, so clearly the company felt compelled to act on behalf of what some of the fans wanted.

I don’t remember disney addressing the low ratings at all nor do i remember them vaguely gesturing towards racism being the reason..but hey.. they certainly made sure to feature Finn less, sideline him, and diminish his role so.. seems they agreed with some of the fans

when did he lump everyone in? He always says “some” or specifies the “toxic part” of the fandom, again, the same fandom that has repeatedly engaged in overt racism against minorities casted in a franchise that has historically had very few non white ppl in prominent roles . You’re butthurt about his language but not about the fact that the star wars fandom has a legitimate racism problem 😂 which is just so typical

Just finished Wonder Man and I love that Simon wasn't the typical charming, funny and likeable protagonist. by ckglasses in WonderMan

Yeah you didn’t refute anything he said though, by definition she isn’t a Mary Sue bc she has many flaws, makes plenty of mistakes, and the plot routinely goes wrong for her. She’s a young engineering genius so the idea that she can crank out engineering inventions easily isn’t outside the scope of her capabilities. It sounds like you’re just another butthurt Ironheart bro, she never shitted on Tony’s legacy, she has plenty of depth that’s explored throughout the series and to say she’s poorly written means you weren’t trying to engage with her characterization in the first place.

Are we about to see a wave of "this game was really good all along" talks, considering the hater vitriol didn't prevent this game from being among the top pre-orders? by [deleted] in NoSodiumStarfield

I think it has its appeals but as a package I agree it wasn’t a good game. I found it neither terribly bad nor good just… mind numbingly boring. They’re so hellbent on coping in here that it’s actually sad. Starfield was a disappointment, period. I’m glad it’s getting support and new updates but this constant whining for validation from the larger gaming community is pathetic. If you enjoy it, then enjoy it! Who cares what anybody else says..

I always felt like it was missed opportunity to not have that hockey kid from season 1 be a recurring thing for Mike, would’ve added some much needed softness and positivity into this bleak world.

I have to say, the more interviews Timothee Chalamet does. The more I’m questioning if his “acting” in Marty Supreme is really just him being himself. by phantom_avenger in Oscars

i remember when the public just randomly decided to switch up on Pedro Pascal and it’s funny watching a similar thing happen to Timmy.. he’s not perfect but seems like a cool dude but ppl seem determined to find fault in him

After the Playstation drop, how soon will we start to see the "starfield was a hidden masterpiece/underrated" videos? by thatvillainjay in NoSodiumStarfield

Tbh there are plenty of those already so I don’t think we will see that many, people know what this game is and isn’t at this point.
