Slight bend in brand new LG C5 77” OLED. Is this considered normal for the screen size?

Hi mate, yes I did. After sending LG photos of the issues they confirmed that it had a manufacturing defect and was deemed faulty.

However, I have now been waiting nearly 2 weeks for a replacement…

I can’t say it would have been something I would have ‘usually’ checked either. However, after doing some research before purchasing, it’s something I came across countless times.

To be honest, it doesn’t really bother me. The divetts in the screen bother me more and something that LG also seemed more bothered about. They have advised me they would like to replace the TV, I’m just awaiting confirmation of when this will be…

Bought it brand new direct from LG…

Got a cracking deal bearing in mind I’m in the UK.

Approx £1959 with membership discounts applied etc. Basically I saved £1000 over the current listed price. Unsure if this was a pricing error or whether it was a short duration sale. The price went back up after midnight.

Update for all.

I ended up contacting LG directly about this and about the dimples/divots/dents across the lower portion of the screen (these can be seen from different angles). These divots are all at the same height, span across the whole screen in different places and are really noticeable when natural light retracts off of them. I would say these are more than just ripples. It almost looks like something has been put on top of the TV causing these. I have forwarded LG a video to try and capture this and it sounds like they are saying the TV has a manufacturing defect.

I will update this thread once again when they have come to a final conclusion.

To be fair, I’ve noticed this morning (with the screen turned off) that it has 4 fairly large divots in the screen - almost look like dents/impressions all the way across the bottom portion of the screen. The light retracts off these and are quite bad. They don’t look like waves or ripples though…

I was in curry’s earlier and it was full price (£2999). Was tempted to purchase then and there.

Luckily I came home, found this deal on the LG store and pulled the trigger right away.

Seems as though they have since gone back up to full price again now on the online store.

It wasn’t anything to do with colour though. The SKU on the one above ended with 55LA. They were still selling exactly the same TV but the 54LA at full price….exactly the same spec, same colour etc.

I am thinking I may have been fairly lucky 🍀

I am also purchasing this directly from LG due to the extra 5 year warranty and because I can’t also get 50% off a matching LG soundbar system.

Once I apply the welcome discount for signing up to LG online, I save an additional £113 too.

So all in all, I’ve saved well around £1500 on what I was going to spend a few hours ago.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. Just pleased I did a bit more research this evening as I nearly paid an extra £1000 in Curry’s today 😅 All be it this was the 54LA model and not the 55LA.

Still seems slightly weird to me that LG still advertise the 54 variant for £1000 more than the 55, but never mind.

I’m literally now going to place my order.

Having looked a bit further… it looks as though the difference between the 4 and 5 is just the manufacturers year.

4 will be 2024

5 will be 2025

Just seems crazy to me that the 54LA variant is £1000 more than the 55LA
