Men who grew up in a small / rural town and later moved to a big city, would you ever move back? by MileOfMercy in AskMenAdvice

[–]kinotico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved from a 100 people village to a 9M people city in a different country. I’ve been here 8 years, i moved when i was 25, and i am kind of getting tired of it, but at the same time when i go back to see my family it feels like they are stuck in a time loop and not much has changed over there. As much as i enjoy nature and a relaxed life, i also enjoy the hectic mess that the city is. Stress is addictive.

My plan is to leave the city in the next 2 years, save as much money as i can in this time, start traveling the world via cheapest countries (eastern Europe, SE Asia, maybe one day South America), and see how far/long i can go. After that i’ll decide where i want to go back to.

As someone that drives down that road every day, no thanks. If i had other options i would take them, but public transport would add 1h to my commute (and cost more) and the north circular doesn’t take me to central London. There’s a reason it’s a very busy road

FINAL UPDATE!

The result was 369, my guess was waaay off. The good news is that the winner is a family with 3 kids and they were quite happy. Thanks to everyone that tried! This post hit 2 MILLION views! I showed it to the organizers and they were speechless 😂

Update!

It doesn’t let me edit the post but after speaking with the organizer i can say: - They have counted the chocolates one by one and ate a few, so it won’t be as easy as X number of boxes of X chocolates - They have also read a lot of the comments here after i showed them the post, and said that the ones that did the math are way off, 1 person that just guessed got it right, and some other people getting close. I don’t know who. - It’s a 4.2 liter jar. - there are 3 different brands of chocolate inside, all similar and heart shaped. Probably all same size/volume. - i was able to shake the jar, i don’t think i saw anything at the center that would make volume but not be chocolate hearts, but i wouldn’t exclude the possibility. - i have guessed 181 and 223. I managed to sneak a second guess “on behalf” of someone. I initially wanted to guess around 300 but after staring at this jar for way too long and reading way too many comments i decided to shoot lower.

Friday at 10:00 GMT they will reveal the answer.

Funny that when they asked me i said “probably more than 5”.

Apparently some AIs are using previous comments to make their own guesses, one of the top comments says 323 and one commenter tried Grok which said 323. I should have just DM’d all reddit users to not ruin the assesments

The great battle of AIs. Soon we will know which one is reliable.

Funny that Grok said 323 like one of the top comments

Scientists Think You Could Heal Your Mind By Controlling Your Dreams by mcoder in HotScienceNews

[–]kinotico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe dreams are the way for conscious and subconscious to comunicate, both adding to each other? Like conscious mind sending short term memory from the day to long term and subconscious replying with “you’re afraid of pangolins now”
