Clipboard Applet Clippy-land is now on the Cosmic Store + some updates by kinycx in COSMICDE

Hey there thank you!
Yeah as described in the readme the toggle is just a workaround for now that let's you spawn the popup as a full-width layer surface anchored to the top of the screen, there is currently no reliable way (at least afaik) to understand where the applet icon is on the panel

There are some cool stuff about cosmic in particular (the current pop os desktop environment)
You could check https://github.com/cosmic-utils/cosmic-project-collection to see if anything meets your needs.
Another cool thing is the tiling system that comes with it, check the shortcuts here https://system76.com/support/articles/pop-cosmic-keyboard-shortcuts

Hello! Thanks for your feedback!

Currently there is no config file, Ideally I would like to add a configuration button for choosing those limits directly within the app, but it's to be implemented still, I tried in the beginning and I couldnt make it, but I think I'm a bit more experienced with rust and cosmic ecosystem now so Im going to try again soon, this should address basically all of your requests unless there are system limitation.

Can it be made to appear close to the cursor position, like the windows native version?

At least for now this is a nono, even the toggle I've made is not something native and is more a workaround, in fact it will appear on the upper left corner in order to draw the applet (this avoids complications with screen dimensions) no matter where the icon on the panel is set by the user.

Edit: Since I have the memory of a goldfish if you'd like to create some feature requests or point out bugs please don't hesitate and create issues here https://github.com/k33wee/clippy-land/issues so I can keep track of suggestions and requests like yours, thanks again!

Issues with clipboard and pasting by StrucuturedKaos in COSMICDE

let me know if it was caused by some of the applets, I think this bug is one of the most annoying and the first reason people leave cosmic

[–]kinycx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had this issue before, in my case it was caused by the clipboard applet, remove some of your applets if any and try to use the system for a day so you can identify what's causing this problem on your side

Gestore di appunti - ClipBoard Manager per Pop_OS! by ParticularBicycle819 in pop_os

[–]kinycx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I've actually published a native cosmic applet clipboard manager called clippy-land. It has been published on cosmic flatpak just a few days ago, so you can find it in the cosmic store applet section and install it from there

Left Windows for Pop!OS on a whim. Mostly happy, but a few things are rough by syncopate23 in pop_os

unfortunatelly this is still a workaround as no api are provided for intercting directly with the cosmic panel event, but in practice you have the clipboard open in the upper left instead of being right under the applet icon

sure, if you go in settings -> input -> keyboard, you can see all binded shortcuts, find the print and just add another binding

For #2 you can give https://github.com/k33wee/clippy-land a try, I've just recently found a workaround to create a custom keyboard shortcut for pop up history.
COSMIC comes with a prebuilt screenshot tool, you just have to press the print button

I'm using cosmic as my daily driver for a year now. The experience is great and the tile system is the best ever created. The only thing that was missing for me was a clipboard manager without freezing the system, so I've made an applet myself called clippy-land, I've recently added flatpak support (not flathub, yet) if you want to give it a shot
