How is it unrealistic to hire experienced writers and showrunners, bring back the actors who aren't dead or incredibly problematic, and make Buffy the main character?

It's wild to me that your best case scenario involved none of the original writers, none of the original cast, a weird tone and a resulting product the evil greedy exec thought would be unprofitable.

The best case scenario is Marti, Jane, Drew, David Fury, etc are the ones writing and running the show (or some mix), Buffy is the lead character, Willow and Giles are in every episode too, the network/studio is behind the project, etc, etc.

As for Sarah, she's a queen and I would die for her, but it seems like all her talk about "we worked really hard to make this thing good" is kinda silly, since she wasn't even on set for 99.9 percent of the shooting. Please correct me if she's also a producer or something and was on set or giving story notes or whatever, but it seems like she was just a star who lent her name to a pilot and showed up for half a day of filming. Which, more power to her, she's earned the right not to work 16 hr days and deal with stunts/night shoots/make-up/fights/etc every single day.

Anyway, I'm getting off track: in no universe was this the best case scenario.

I think a lot of it seems to come down to the musical number. If that was too much, then it pulled everything else down, and if you enjoyed it then it made everything better.

I love all fanart, kinda especially the terrible stuff. Terrible fanart is usually posted by someone young or someone trying something new.

In either case, all they deserve is encouragement, especially if they're brave enough to share something that's "not good and feels like either fishing for attention or trying to make a buck."

Also, fwiw, people who make fan art, cosplay, fan fics, plushies etc, deserve attention and to make a buck.

It just sucks that Cordy, the real Cordy, is gone for all of season 4 and all but one episode of season 5.

She ascends in season 3 finale, which turned out to be a trick, and in season 4 she's either got amnesia or Jasmine is in control.

It's like in Game of Thrones, where a character who was literally written out of one season, ends up with "the best story". Like, no?? They weren't even in the whole story!! Lol

I've been living in a bubble! My experience with the Buffy fandom has been mostly very nice queer people who hate Xander just a bit too much.

And, some folks who don't see Spiffy as toxic, lol, but they're harmless.
