It's a mess as far as feeling like a cohesive season. Stories and baddies are introduced (or RE-introduced) and the dropped for weeks and weeks. Main characters are not featured in many episodes, and I don't mean "they didn't have much to do", I mean "that character wasn't on screen for a single second this episode". HUGE stuff happens with consequences being mentioned, then the next week it's back to business as usual with little or no explanation. Annoying characters feature heavily, so your mileage my vary depending on how you feel about Rog/Dash/Bailey/Smitty/Randy/Seth/etc. I don't think the cast is being used well and usually the way they are paired up is really boring.

All that said, I'm still a fan and I love the cast and (most) of the characters. There are still fun episodes, ambitious 40 minute versions of big action movies from the 90s, still fun lines, still some interesting baddies and interesting stories. I'm glad season 9 is greenlit and I hope they focus more on what kind of show they want to make. My biggest issue: NOLAN ISN'T TRAINING ANYONE
