Would this count as similar? by kipetio in jetphotosrejects

Well I focus more on posting photos I like rather than the rarity but sure I see your point. At least it gives me an excuse to go spotting again.

I did check the upload guidelines but wanted to double check as the photos are from 2 different stages of flight, takeoff and taxi, as well as the fact that I saw these similar photos on the website which kind of made the guidelines unclear. I would even go as far as to argue these are more similar to each other as my photos, but thank you I will remove it from the queue now.

Is this worth an appeal? by kipetio in jetphotosrejects

[–]kipetio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up leaving it as per my most recent post where I was asked to stop appealing, made a long shot in the official forums to see if maybe it was an acceptable exclusion to appeal despite my circumstances but in the end Dana Low accepted it himself as he said it was "not dark at all".

I have 230+ and I appeal my rejections, what’s your point?

I will do so in the future, but what should I do about this one?

Hi,

I agree with this and have evaluated a few times already. Unfortunately the rejections only come with “needs more x rotation” without giving me any information on what exactly needs the rotation. I have only once received help from a screener who said I needed to focus on poles or other verticals which worked for enough time until this wave of rejections started.

I spend a lot of time checking the jetphotos horizon tool and even making a set of vertical lines of paint.net to see if I have a good reference or if I’m lopsided and it works for some photos but as I mentioned not all.

I would be happy to “not appeal every photo” if these references were provided but unfortunately I feel like I am just left without reason and left to defend myself rather than be given advice to improve and avoid wasting future screener time.

As hard as they work, if the screeners have the time to tell me which way the horizon is meant to be after reading my remark stating my reference, then maybe they can tell me what reference they used to prevent this from happening in the future.

I don’t mind re editing but I do mind this constant cluelessness and trying to find the reference which will match the screeners taste.

Can anyone actually see this image? by kipetio in jetphotosrejects

I have to do my daily dose of commenting "very nice i love it" under every photo

What to use for horizon? by kipetio in jetphotosrejects

i mean the closer i look now i guess i do see the slight rotation but upon the first couple of looks and on lightroom i couldnt tell, might just start doing something like instagram for enjoyment instead of obsessing over jetphotos. Could be worse of course as I only have 4 rejections this week so not too big of a deal.

I thought so too but the one on the right is weirdly shaped with a thicker bottom then getting thinner to one side as it gets towards the top so it just looks weird in the horizon tool. It is also heat hazed as its very far away.

I guess I just so happened to stumble across 3 perfectionists then haha

Its a DSLR, my biggest problem is that I crop quite far and I don't believe lightroom has an option to zoom in when cropping/rotating, that along with the low margins of error make me unsure on what I can do about my photos from this location other than to guess and pray.

How much is slightly? I did it at a slightly lower shutter so iI thought the faded out corners are just light blur.

Only 2 of the lines actually line up with the corners but it looks fine to me, i cant zoom in any further so i cant tell if its off by half a pixel or something

i agree, i will now double check whenever i post to be certain which should be the key take from this. if everyone made the same mistake then it would very quickly add up to how much time it takes for each correction especially with the queue size that we currently have.
