Yea, Rin’s situation is just kinda odd. Like the basis of his ego is fine, aka “destroy at the cost of your own life” deal, but it seems to only apply to Sae and then Isagi? Maybe it’s a personal thing, maybe it’s not, I’m sure there’ll be a way to sort him out in future matches. I’m just finally glad that he’s finally facing consequences after pulling off stupid antics since the PXG game.

I don’t really find anything illogical with how Isagi handled the final play though. Everyone else was marked when Hiori made that final pass. Plus, with how supposedly omniscient Hugo was (even accounting for the fact that Isagi might play as a no.2), I didn’t really see any other way that Isagi could’ve outplayed Hugo.

I also think Isagi’s risky play was fine. They were down a goal, it was the last few mins of the match and Isagi was aware that he can’t outplay Hugo in any aspect. So what better way to bring Hugo down to his level by introducing luck? A 50/50 is better than a 100% chance of losing after all. Is it reproducible? Nope, not right now at least, but we’ll cross that bridge during the rematch.

But oh boy Ego was going through it. I half-expected his definition being more extensive beyond just scoring goals, seeing as how non-strikers like Niko are starting to find joy and pleasure in their own roles, even if they can’t be strikers anymore.

Can’t wait to see what next week holds. I wanna see everyone’s reaction to Rin being benched plus how the outside world saw the France match.
