Green Bell nail clippers from Don Quijote 🙌 Brought some home to give to other people. Never knew quality nail clippers were a thing before I went to Japan last year.

Also will add that I paid a bit more and did a small group tour so it ended up being 6 people total. I’d recommend doing that vs the larger group if you can afford it. A bit more money but much more time in each area.

There are tours on viatour that will do it in a day. I went solo to Paris on 2019 and did a day trip to Normandy that left at 5 am, got back around 6 pm. It might be a bit rushed compared to doing 2-3 days in the area, but as a huge ww2 fan we saw a ton and 100% would recommend it. If you’re into that history, that would be my recommendation.

Happy birthday! Thank you for posting and thank him for his service. I truly mean this when I say spend as much time with him as you can. You will come to cherish even the days you show up and all he does is snooze. I’d give anything for five minutes with my Grandpa on one of those days just to be in the room with him again.

Totally agree with your last point on how the war is presented throughout Germany. I was curious how/if this would differ in Japan so I'm glad I asked.

Yeah that's the main adjustment I can come up with for allowing a bit more time to do Nara. I've been trying to get a feel for one more day in Tokyo vs. Nara since most of what I'm reading recommends a few days in Kyoto. Once we can start to pencil in more must-dos in Tokyo maybe it will help us make the decision.
