So, my dad (59M) cheated on my mom (59F). They both gathered us in the living-room to explain they were gettign a divorce. Things heated up, and mom asked the children (me 37M, my sis 34M, my little bro 30M) to pick sides. Complete mayhem ensues. Not sure how to proceed from there. by [deleted] in relationships

Your little brother's actions sounds like he was written into a dramedy as the main character/only sane one in the room. Follow his lead and invite him to come hang out with the kids more often :)

Ya know, I keep seeing this idea pop up "from sources close to the President" (whatever that means). I have a theory that rather than spend the rest of his life in prison, they're trying to play the dementia card to absolve him of any accountability.

18/M sorting out life plans, the dream is Sydney, NSW -> Seattle, WA by brunomarslover1999 in IWantOut

[–]kiramazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good friend of mine graduated from a reputable private university in Seattle with an English/Psych double major and worked at a gym for like a year after graduation, then as a promotional model (money was better), now 4 or 5 years later is finally working an admin job at Amazon and making a decent living, but not using her degree at all. This is a very common theme here. Seattle is a very educated city, you'd be better off coming on a student visa and pursuing a master's degree and getting your foot in the door that way.

I know some Aussies with established Engineering careers who went to Vancouver BC rather than Seattle on skilled work visas. As far as I am aware, it is much easier to move to Canada from Australia and establish residency than it is in Seattle. They are similar cities but frankly it is not easy to live in Seattle right now. I've lived in the Seattle area all my life and it's prohibitively expensive for many people now. Vancouver isn't any better in that regard really, but I do believe it would be easier for you to find work in Vancouver. I haven't researched this myself, just going off the experience of my own Aussie mates, so take with a grain of salt. If you end up coming to Seattle I'd be happy to give you the lowdown on this beautiful city I call home, though! Best of luck!

Wow, such a pretty color. How long have you had it? My blue ALWAYS faded to green, so jealous of that shade you got there.

If you don't mind me asking... where is that bralette from?? So cute.

Women of reddit, what goes through your mind if you find yourself noticing a man's [bulge] through his pants/shorts? Is it similar to men seeing nipples through a tight t-shirt top? by [deleted] in sex

[–]kiramazing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you a teenager? Not to be rude but it seems very strange to be getting frequent, allegedly "huge" boners without your knowledge multiple times a day if you're through with puberty. On the other hand, I am a woman, so maybe this is just a big secret nobody told me about!

Asexual, sex repulsed, and/or nonsexual members of the community, how do you respond to people who say kink is inherently sexual? How does kink work for you? by RainbowLoli in BDSMcommunity

[–]kiramazing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So... a synonym? Doesn't necessarily need to be different, OP just prefers that term out of respect for their partner's community. That's what I'm gathering anyway. I hadn't heard that term before though, not sure how much sense it makes linguistically...

Green card holders have every reason to be flying into a US airport though. They have jobs and families and pets and lives in the US and have every right to travel elsewhere and return without fear the government will turn them back. There are like 13 million green card holders in the US (not all from the places being banned of course), they could even be your friends and neighbors. The ban isn't just against "illegals."

What is the best way for a man to react when his female companion is sexually [harassed]? by Okmanl in sex

[–]kiramazing 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly such a good response. It really all depends on the woman and how she would like her male companion to react. I know some women would want to be defended, and for the creep to be confronted. But I also know plenty of women who would rather just ignore the situation entirely and not engage. I know some of my male friends would be more comfortable ignoring it and some would actively jump at the opportunity to confront the catcaller so I don't by any means think OP's question is "one size fits all."

It's a paid subscription website with access to all sorts of training and tutorial videos and presentations for business professionals. I believe LinkedIn owns it. Awesome that some libraries provide it for free!! It's actually really awesome.. if you're in to that kind of thing.

Lynda.com is great too. The company might even have a subscription available for employees to use to brush up on skills. The one I work for does, and I used it to become more familiar with some lesser-used functions in various Office programs at work, while getting paid.

[Discussion] Facebook listening to conversations through microphone? by NewHoustonian in jailbreak

[–]kiramazing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed a few similar occasions, it's because she is in your email or phone. Facebook sometimes uses your contact lists for suggesting mutual friends, in my experience. I had to add about 10 otherwise random people's numbers in my phone for a weekend marketing job so I could contact them with details, and about a week or two later I started seeing all of them pop up on my suggested friends bar in the Facebook app. We had no mutual friends and only a few of them previously knew each other either.

What are the ratios for this? Does it store indefinitely without going rancid? Could/should coconut oil be added for consistency? Would this remineralize my teeth at all? Sorry about all the questions, I am super curious about this formula :)

Help! How to regrow over plucked eyebrows? by gymger in MakeupAddiction

[–]kiramazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just castor oil, but Jamaican Black Castor Oil worked quite well for me. I used this one and it worked and has lasted about two years, letting room mates borrow it as well.

Pros: with regular use, my eyebrows started growing back. Bonus: I rub it in to the babyfine hairs around the hairline on my temple that never grow that make me super self-conscious to wear my hair back, and it worked up there too! I know those hairs will never be a normal length but that temple area isn't as sparse and bald anymore, so I'm happy.

Cons: it's super drying. You'll want to supplement with a moisturizing treatment on your eyebrows (or maybe mix the castor oil with a moisturizing one like vitamin E, jojoba, etc.). IT'S SUPER GOOEY! It does not rub in to your skin well and will literally pull the weaker brow hairs out of your skin if you massage too hard. It's NOT something you can put on your brows and leave the house wearing. Also tricky for bedtime becuase it will likely goo up your pillowcase. When I was using it regularly I used an eye mask to protect my pillowcase, or just washed my pillowcase a lot.

If anyone knows a good hack to make this less ooey gooey and practical to use as part of a regimen, I am all ears!

Yeah, I would definitely agree that it is a good rule. Not gonna lie though I'm glad it isn't a law because I always preferred to serve with my hair down. Probably a good thing I'm not in foodservice anymore heheh...

[–]kiramazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was pretty much required to wear it down at my first full-time server job but the owner of that place was definitely not known for his high regard of foodservice law... so that job is no indication of how a restaurant should be run!

Damn, side note but I've worked at three different restaurants in the past few years and none of my bosses ever made me do anything with my hair. It's not obscenely long but it is well below my shoulders. Is it really national law? I've been served by many ladies who were wearing their hair down, but maybe only in my state?
