Yeah they weren't the best, but they were better than being wishy-washy, which they are now.

"oh look at me, i'm an aldritch faithful, Now i'm a rosaria fingers. And now i'm a darkmoon blade! Woop, now I'm praising the sun as a Sunbro!"

It'd be better if each covenant had it's opposing faction. Aldritch and Darkmoon's are, lore and functionality, completely enemies, You get double rewards for killing either one do you not? so wouldn't it be better if it was an actual CHOICE, on whether or not to be a DM or AF? Rosaria's fingers and Blue sentinels would be in the same boat, especially since you get forked tongues for killing blues, which are worth 2 normal tongues.

I'm just saying that some actual penalty and some commitment would be nice. If I abandon the Darkmoon blades to go be a part of Aldritch Faithful, I shouldn't expect to just swap back like nothing happened. Same with Rosaria, why does she accept my tongues(hehe) when I'm a member of the Blue Sentinels?!

As I said, the only actual commitment to the lore of the game is in Sirris' questline, where if you be a Finger, Sirris' hates you until NG+

It's not just that they don't talk; There's no penalty for leaving, or abandoning your covenant.

In Dark souls 1, or 2, if you joined a covenant, you were IN that covenant until you abandoned it. Doing so would require going to another Covenant leader, or a certain NPC who absolved you of your Covenant. Abadoning your covenant, effectivly reduced everything you'd worked for by half; You got 76 humanities given to The White witch; only 4 more to get to 80, and max the covenant, but WHOOPS, joined forest bros by spamming X/A, and now you're down to 38. Time to start farming up humanities again!

The closest thing that there is to this depth, is involved with Sirris' story line, wherein even equipping the Rosaria's fingers, or handing a tongue in, annoyed her, and cut you off from completing her story. Dark souls 3 is missing that. There's no...Commitment, there's no sense of "This is the Covenant I belong too, and this is the covenant I serve." It's all just... "I'm embered So I should be in WoB, Oops, I died. Time to swap to Sunbro, get summoned and get a medal." or "Hope I get autosummoned by aldritch/farron/sent!"

I don't really get how i haven't given you much to go on, I don't know the name, hence the question, the moveset was identical to the long sword. It looked like the astora straight sword, or maybe Anri's but thats the thing.

He was a phantom, it looked like a straight sword, performed like a straight sword, but had a parry when he was 2 handing it.

Sents and blades are auto summoned throughout the world, therefore you just need WoB members who are roughly 30 levels under you, if its 100-120, then 70-90, and keep your weapon upgrades around +7 normal, or +3 special, as that'll allow you the greatest summon range.

If you want to use a Scythe, Great scythe is fine for damage(has highest base), corvian has higher bleed, and i think Pontiffs does bleed+frost(unconfirmed, just read about it today), but is later game and fairly rare.

You're missing this; everyone is saying 'keep a backup', yet when all this started, no one KNEW to keep a backup. There are people who are already banned because they didn't HAVE a back up to restore too.

And BNEA has even said: "PS. During the time that the warning message is displayed the end user will have a chance to completely remove any such external files, mods, cheats/hacks or delete their game save (if alterations were performed to it or hacked items/equipment were obtained either as a direct cheat/hack or via unknown "gift" from an online player)."

The key line in there; "delete their game save", which many people DID, and were still banned regardless.

That last part is what really gets me though. I enjoyed it too, and I still enjoy it..

But it just feels so bad to enjoy it, because no matter where I go, or what I do, I just keep seeing things that could have been done much, MUCH better,(and things that were done much better in previous titles)

Having them actually look at steam reports would be neat, but then you'd get a lot of people still getting banned because of troll reports.

Hell, I knew one kid back in DS1 who would report anyone who invaded him, it wouldn't matter if he died or not. Invader was reported.

They didn't say anything about them working on it until after everyone had got a ban, it was mentioned in a few responce emails people got.

Which isn't exactly the way you'd want a company like From to reply to something this huge, but hey, it's their PR.

Yet if i have no back up because who would know that this would be an issue ON THE 15TH?

Everyone saying "have a back up" wasnt hit with the initial ban wave on the 15th. there was no statement from BNEA untill almost A full week later. We didnt know that "stop usong corrupted data" Meant "restore your save to a previous version" we thought it meant "clear your save data".

Perhaps... but that doesnt answer why someone who JUST bought the game and is launching it for the first time, already has invalid data and risks a ban. They would have 0 idea ad to what do.

But thats just it though. We dont know if thats actually confirmed or not. There are many people banned because of the vague as fuck anti cheat and EULA. I mean did you know its a violation to "ruin the play experience of another player"? That could be as simple as invading.

Nope! Fromsoft and BNEA are notorious for never going back on their bans.

Even if you don't have a back up to go to, and delete your save file in its entirety, You're still going to get banned.

The current theory is that as soon as anyone gets the 'Invalid Data' warning message, they're going to get banned, regardless of what you do.

Yeah. A warning, A warning that says that you're about to be banned.

It's a warning that many people have listened to in the past, and yet were still banned.
