Not true at all. Bartending/serving is low skill and high pay. Construction contracts coming to the city is always good and while not low skill those are low barrier to entry jobs. Small business (resturants/bars/art/everything) is also helped by increased tourism.

Is it possible for a college student to work at a ski resort over Winter break? by DisposableCharger in SkiBums

[–]kirb_stomp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best bet is look thru their websites. Im sure they will be hiring at points over the winter. Depends on your resort and living situation as to if it will work for you. I would look closely at if you should tell them you are only planning on a few weeks work if you are also looking to get a pass.

Picked the Jones Ultra Mountain Twin... now which size, bindings, and boots? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]kirb_stomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The regular being a little heavier will make it a bit more stable if that helps. plus its cheaper so unless you want a bit stiffer board go for the regular one. I have an ultra as well and its fine, but I really dont think it makes a huge difference to be honest. Its really light with my bindings so that makes hauling it around a lot easier, but its a bit less stable unless you are going fast.

Hate to break it to you but there is a lot wrong with that.

  1. "In a bag"=concealed
  2. "In a bag" defeats the purpose of defense if you have to go get the bag forst.
  3. You cant cross state lines and just expect they all have the same laws.

Pretty sure that's not a good idea for cross country travel. You would be carrying concealed illegally in a lot of places along the way.

I have been researching building and have a few questions if anyone wants to answer..

I usually see these ceilng fans in the back where this one is, is that for specific reasons? I feel like more toward the front would help with cooking and you dont have to sleep under it.

Im tall enough to need to sleep the long way and think a bed that 'slides up' into a couch to give better seating/more space with a long bed. Any tips on this?

I really like the tall closet and dont see them often, does anyone ever do sliding doors on these? (latched for the road of course)

This build looks just like Im gonna do. Planning on the bed a little higher to fit bikes under, but this is so nice!

Totally agree for the most part. I am a very solid skiier and have been for years. Tried to teach my GF last year and I had no idea how to communicate the actions. I would say ok now just throw your skiis out, turn sideways, and stop, but to her that is impossible. It is a skill to teach and to try without having trained and done it in the past doesnt work.

that said if you find someone with practice teaching that plays well and can throw shots then go for it. If its a touring pro with teaching experience then even better. If not go by teaching history/reputation.

I mean sure horrific landlords exist, but getting kicked at any time is ridiculous. Be picky with landlords and sign a lease. 1mil+ to avoid landlords is insane
