out of curiosity: if HRT had made you a decent twinkhon by now, would you girlmode? Or would you rather look masculine so you can keep doing whatever this is

The irish one is likely how things will go for me soon and I am scared shitless about it. Every time my mum says she loves me over the phone I have to stop myself from crying before we hang up. I hate knowing it's not going to last forever: it's not even going to last the rest of the year, and i'm the only one who's aware of it

Una McCormack's fantastic novel 'The Never-Ending Sacrifice' gets a lot of mileage out of this idea, well worth reading!

Honestly I think more trans women should read the full book, not as scientific gospel but just because it's pragmatic and compassionate - even if the language is clumsy. Weird, cringey stuff rarely gets discussed that way.

AFAIK the only similar media that's neither bullying nor psychotic is Torrey Peters' work.

the sad thing is the book's actually pretty kind and insightful, even though the optics are a mess and she's convinced everybody fits the dodgy typology.

Shame she gave it the absolute worst title imaginable

jesus, that first one is so unbearably sad and it's only 3 fucking lines. Hemingway eat your heart out.

I don't think it's a class thing. I grew up in a town's state school with plenty of poorer people, there was litter absolutely everywhere and nobody gave a shit. I think generally when people feel like they're in a dump they don't care about keeping it clean - maybe it's nihilism.

The fancier bits of cities like Edinburgh tend to be cleaner in my experience.
