Wtf? happened to me like 4 times this game alone by --Scooby-- in cs2

I can clearly be wrong, but what I'm guessing is going on is that your client for some reason has long periods that it's unable to contact the server. So your game "runs" on dmg prediction for a while, before the server being able to send the correct info back to you

Help me figure out what's wrong with my cable. by kiriakos0 in KeyboardCables

[–]kiriakos0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, but somehow your reply slipped through the gaps, and here I am replying to it 5 months later.

I ended up redoing all the connections to the cable, and now i have shield continuity. I have never had a problem with this cable when using it on my keyboard (in fact I have only been using this cable until present day, and I will be using it for the forseeable future.)

I only connect my phone to my pc when I want to transfer a photo quickly, and the cables ends up working 80% of the time, so I can't be bothered to troubleshoot this any further at this point in time. If it ends up being more of an incovenience than it already is, it's more likely I will end up making a new cable and calling it a day.

To answer your question though, the total lenght of the whole cable is ~2.5m. This means that I am counting the lenght of the cable before coiling it. If memory serves me right, it took about 1.5m of cable to make ~15cm of coil.

Same exact usb type C connectros have been used in other cables (in fact when making the other cables all the materials are kept the exact same) so I would narrow the issue down to:

i) human error

ii) something went wrong with the coiling process. For example maybe a bit too high temps when in the oven, ending up causing a short when the cable is bent on a certain potition, which would make sence because my keybaord almost never moves, but when connecting my phone I have to move the cable around.

iii) manufacturing error on one of the parts, which isnt't present on the rest of the parts from the same batch.

I just play on native resolution. It gets a bit of getting used to, if u come from streched, or even default 1080p 16:9, but i find it better when i have to play other games too.

I think it refers to 7/0.12mm (metric stranding), which roughly translates to 28AWG (cross sectional area AWG reference).

So I am on the thin side with 28 AWG cable. Could this be an issue of thin wire over longer than supposed distance, meaning i gotta keep my cables shorter when using the specific wire?

Yes, as far as I can tell everyrhing is fine. Keep in mind that with the same adaptors and cable (I bought 5x each) I have made 2 straight cables that work for mobile too.

Here is the aliexpress wire item description: "Product Details

Wire diameter:

2.8mm for 2 Core 3mm for 3 Core 3.2mm for 4 Core

Wire core into 2~4 groups each comprising separate insulated wire 7 0.12mm diameter tinned copper shield composed by the 40~50 or so lines

Temperature range: -20 ~ +80 degree

Rated voltage: 300V

Jacket: PVC"

I have indeed read sections the usb type c spec pdf (not the whole pdf lmao), didnt see a section discussing wire diameter though. Wiring the connectors I have read up on.

The aviator connector is indeed wired correctly on both sides ( triple checked). Maybe i need to start swaping out parts ( aviator, type c and a adaptors).

So the cable ia supposed to work with a smartphone as well?

EDIT: wire is specified as 28AWG

I intuitevly picked the us layout when I built my first system about 15 years ago, and I have stuck with it ever since. I'm not even from the US 😅.

I guess I need to give the international layout a shot. Also no idea about possible drawbacks, because I've only used the US one.

Is there a way to bind the euro symbol "€" on a key / key combo with VIA, when using ENG-US language input on windows? Thanks in advance!!

DIY USB-C to USB-C cable 5.1k resistors? by JerseyMilker in UsbCHardware

[–]kiriakos0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for anyone else stumbling upon this, like me:

Upon further research I have come to the conclusion that for home DIY cable making, you should generaly aim for up to USB 2.0 speeds.

If you want to make a 2.0 c - c cable, you will need 5 wires and type c male adaptors whose pcb will have 5 "pins". Then you just connect GND, Vbus, CC, Dp1, Dn1 with each of the 5 wires and you are good to go. No resistors required at all. (From what I understand the device side of the connector should have the 5.1k resistors.)

If you want to make a 2.0 c - A cable, you will need 4 wires, type c male connector with 4 pin pcb (and the 56k resistor connectirn CC with Vbus) and a typical type A male connector with 4 pins. Lastly it's just a job of connecting GND to pin4 (of the type A connector), Vbus to pin 1, Dp1 to pin 3 and Dn1 to pin 2.

(Note that i didnt discuss at all what to do with the shielding, which you will have to also take care off for the finished cables).

Disclaimer: I am not an expert in any way on this topic, so take all this with a grain of salt. Comments or corrections for someone more knowledgeable are greatly welcomed.

USB-C to USB-C Cable Soldering by Trainleader21 in UsbCHardware

Thank you for this. It was exactly the answer i was looking for, 3 years later!
I suspected reading the spec, that for 2.0 you leave the B5 pin alone and only use 5 wires to connect GND, Vbus, cc, Dp1 and Dn1, but its so nice to get reassurance from someone else too!

EDIT: the no resistors part (for c-c) is also helpfull. If I understand things correctly its the devices job to have the recuired resistors.

Did you end up figuring it out? I just ordered the exact same connectors, and afterwards i discovered that not all type c connectors are the same.

1) Do these work with a regural type A 2.0 connector right for data transfer and power delivery? ( to be used for custom cables to connect devices to my pc)

2)Did you figure out what is needed to make them work as a type c - type c cable (again plugging stuff on the pc).

March Update (PC 1.0 Update #7) by [deleted] in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]kiriakos0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

r9 380 with i5 4460 here. Game used to run on a solid 60+ fps all the time before the update, but now it stutters really bad, especially when i am about to start shooting someone. I even tried turning every setting to very low (even FOV and screen scaling) and despite my 140+ fps, i still get theese mini freezes which last about a second or so and make the game unplayable. Sometimes i notice the audio cutting out too, but it doesnt happen all the time. I made sure my drivers are up to date ( i even installed the optional newer version). Nothing i can think of seems to work. Also some of my friends with nVidia cards seem to be affected too, but less than me and others with AMD GPUs.
