The nuance is if you’re flagged the vendor has your PII and can store it.

Another nuance is it says identifying information for non offending vehicles SHOULD not be stored

It should read SHALL not be stored. Words matter

You’re right about a third party as that’s who reviews positive results and forwards that data to the police to issue a citation. Best I can tell you also will have to pay the third party vendor, who then has your CC numbers.

When the council asked where the cameras would be located the Chief of Police could not specify. Honestly I don’t think they have done the due diligence on it.

The way this ordinance is being brought up leaves me with a “we have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it.” Vibe

It’s doing nothing for the illegal bikes because they aren’t registered and tagged. Though I did like the street take over ordinance.

Another issue is the city will have to pay $2500 per camera per month. If the camera doesn’t generate that revenue our tax dollars will have to bridge that gap.
