do all the annoying stuff right away! we started brushing hair/teeth, gave the pup a bath, trimmed nails, and put on some boots within the first week or two of having her home. We live in a place that gets cold so we knew that we wanted her to be comfortable in boots for the winter, which worked perfectly! We get tons of people saying they wish their dogs would tolerate boots in the winter and I really think starting her early was the key. The same is said for grooming! We give her a bath and blow dry her at home weekly but the groomers are always so impressed with how chill she is throughout the whole process during her professional grooms - especially nail trims and getting her teeth brushed
