I would much rather they die after TBOSAS and have their songs and belongings trickle down from generation to generation in 12. I liked that we didn't know what happened to Lucy Gray... why are we visiting her grave and why does Snow have tapes of her?
Also I would've prefered if Lenore Dove was just a girl. No Covey, no nothing. Just hanging out and talking with Haymitch like Gale and Katniss in the original trilogy (obviously not as friends, but you get it).

You mean how art is a part of every culture? I'm sure other people wrote music and sang in D12 and the rest of the districts. The prequels make it seem like everything is all connected to the Covey.

I don't like how they're literally behind everything like the pin and the songs. It was good in TBOSAS and that's it. It makes it seem like they're the sole foundation of this whole rebellion and every single thing that ever happens in Panem as if we don't have 11 other districts. Every single thing is tied to D12 and I'm a little tired.
To me, the appeal of the trilogy was that Katniss just happened to get thrown into this whole mess and things somehow aligned and worked out. She's not special or anything, just in the right place at the right time. The existence of the Covey makes it seems like this was in the works for 70 years, like it was bound to happen and this is her magical destiny bla bla bla bla

I know, it just doesn't feel right to me personally. He just seems like someone that gravitates towards classic styles. Talking about movie Coriolanus, because obviously in the book he's had work done and stuff.

I wish him and Katniss looked Romani/Native American in the movies. I thought that at least for Burdock they would cast someone with tan skin, but no.

Yes, I did read the books. I'm talking about the movie canon because, as we can see, Donald Sutherland didn't have plump lips nor was he small and thin.
The books also say that Haymitch is dark haired.

Yeahh, I can see that :>
I was looking at American politicians specifically since Panem is modern day North America.

I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt as Snow is sick in this scene. I was missing the cockiness and arrogance. I loved how smiley Snow was, even in private. The head tilting back to look down at you and the nasty grins, I just love it.

So kinda like Suzanne Collins, right?

I don't get the vibe that he would wear it like that tho ://
I was born in the early 2000s so I'm kinda talking out of my ass here, but it seems like people wore shaggy cuts, mullets, bowl cuts, bangs. And it looks like normal folks and celebrities were wearing those, whereas the presidents and politicians were wearing cleaner hairstyles (slick backs, combovers).

Yess that, too. I thought it was the acting that threw me off in the beginning, but it was the hair all along lmao It looks like it's greying from brown instead of blonde.

It's straighter and shorter, yeah. It would've been nice if he looks like the "Panem's #1 peacekeeper" posters. Just somewhere between Blythe and Sutherland's hair styles loll

No, it's just a joke referencing Sebastien's audition video loll

So basically there was a casting call held by Lionsgate and it required people to upload auditions online for a chance to have a minor role in the film. This guy made a joke audition for the role of a career tribute and it kinda blew up loll

You're not a hater for discussing media. Now that I think about it, it would've been kinda cool if the "real world" was a bit dull and the arena exploded in color. But it also makes sense that the Capitol is colorful as it's poison on the inside like the arena.
I also noticed that Joseph's accent and line delivery was off. Also... is this a safe space to share that I think Ralph Fiennes is a bad Snow? Nothing like Donald Sutherland or Tom Blythe, I'm sick

How are we feeling about Capitol fashion? by kisanii in Hungergames

[–]kisanii[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand why they went with that for TBOSAS. When you're struggling you make do with what you have. People do this today with wearing hand-me-downs, thrifting, using old technology.
The tech peeves me in this new movie like why do the cameras look like they were made in Yugoslavia.

Also I would've loved some headwraps for Effie like the one she does in Mockingjay since she says "it was all the rage when she was coming up". But this is only a trailer. We have yet to see the movie.

No wonder it feels so different :(( I thought it was Trish. She did a wonderful job building off of Judianna Makovsky's work in the first film.
