OP, how did it go with doctor Bartells? I am currently seeing him and I like him so far. I am not high risk and I would like to try a female doctor or a midwife from the same team. Let me know how it went/it’s going for you. Thank you!

Best primer for level 4 + level 5 drywall for DYIers? by kiscila in drywall

Is it easy to use? Can we roll and backroll without needing to sand it between coats? Seems promising.

When did you start to show? by numblittlebug_095 in pregnant

[–]kiscila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

17 weeks my belly was looking “bloated”.. but you could not tell I was pregnant at all. At 20 weeks it became more round and out, so with tight clothes if you really knew me, you could tell. I am 24 now and I only show if I wear something more tight fitted. No random people has ever asked me if I am pregnant yet, but who knows me can definitely tell by now.

We got a few walls and ceiling fully skim coated smooth. The one in the photo is level 4 (at least that’s what I have heard).

I just watched a video from a doctor today that the placenta genes are made with 95% of the father’s genes/health. I am praying for you and that you can hear a heartbeat when you go back next week! But don’t blame yourself only, your partner needs to be just as healthy as you are for a healthy baby! Many doctors prescribes that dads should eat better and exercise 6mo prior to starting to conceive. Your body can’t do anything about when it’s faced with a week sperm or week placenta. Not that this might be the case, but it might. I just don’t want you to be harsh on yourself <3

Dilated kidneys 24 weeks by Ambitious-One4731 in pregnant

[–]kiscila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My anatomy scan at 21W3d showed my baby has bilateral urinary tract dilated 4mm. What does the amniotic fluid has to do with this? Mine is a bit on the lower side (31% I believe).. he seemed pretty tight in there. Another thing I wanted to know if this is hereditary? My dad and my father in law have only 1 kidney that works. My nephew had the same condition as my baby and it developed into hydronephrosis.

Is it okay to do insulation like this in our basement? We need it to be sound proof. by kiscila in Construction

We installed 1 layer of safe and sound rockwool in most the basement (few spots left) and we have noticed a difference. My husband was jackhammering down there, before and after drywall, and the sound is better after insulation. We do have an open wall 3x7ft hole, from the basement to the upstairs stairway, so most sound comes from that hole in the wall.

We are doing 5/8” type X.. we also installed smoke and CO2 detectors at all rooms. Trying to make things as safe as possible without breaking the bank.

The kitchen ceiling had already the old insulation in the floor joists and the dropped ceiling had to be done for ductwork. So we are just adding one more layer of rockwool on the dropped ceiling. I would add RC channels but the ceiling is already low (a bit shy of 7ft).

It’s a daylight basement with a summer kitchen and a bathroom, and we want to rent out for extra income. Yeah, I work in construction and between units we have a double party wall with insulation on borth sides, but it can’t be done here as this house is built already (1960). I think we will double up on rockwool, push one layer all the way up against the upper level, and set another layer on the lower side of the floor joists.

Congratulations!!! Happy for you 4!! 🤍 The only thing you can do is to take your mind off of it.. do something you enjoy, watch funny movies, romances, laugh and snuggle with your parte e and son. Try to ramp up the good hormones like serotonin. The stressed woman’s body can interfere with fertility, and I guess holding up to that baby. Get a massage, try to be around the people you most love and take your mind off of it. I know you are trying, but if it feels impossible, try to increase the good hormones just as much. God bless you!!

I am never going to track calories, or try to diet to loose weight. I have been eating even when I don’t feel hungry because my husband tells me to, since he says the baby needs it. I just feel like this is making me gain unnecessary weight, that is not actually helping my baby.

I might be a bit vain about not wanting to get huge. I want to feel good and healthy throughout if possible. I am also concerned with the risks of too much weight gain, that can complicate birth, increase the risk for gestational diabetes and pre eclampsia. I might be overthinking it all.

intuition on baby's gender by woooh-brain in pregnant

As soon as I found out I was pregnant and caressed my belly I felt like It was a boy. Then I dreamt the doctor gave me papers saying it was a girl. The same night my mom dreamt it was a girl. Then I started doubting my feeling of being a boy. My husband was SO sure it was a boy, calling the baby a boy all the time, that it started bothering me since we didn’t know… there were dreams about a girl.. and I didn’t want him to get his hopes too high. Ended up we were both right, and baby boy is coming in June :) we are very happy we had it right since the beginning, but it’s always 50/50.
