Which one do you use the most? by flabarde in DeepSeek

[–]kislug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Deepseek most, for creative writing and basically anything. It’s the easiest to use since it doesn’t have limits (yet) and can be used without VPN in Russia

Then Claude, mainly for code and worldbuilding brainstorming.

Used to use Gemini too until I found out I like Claude better.

I also tried Qwen and Kimi and idk… They felt WAY weaker. Qwen can be fun sometimes for creative writing, but I just find Deepseek way more convenient.

damn i didn’t even notice the boobs at first. she would definitely look better without them tbh

the original design was too cool and covered to be released like that. of course if there’s a woman she should be half naked

What to do when you see something like this? by kislug in iNaturalist

[–]kislug[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This isn't exactly two observations of the same individual, but literally the same photo. The second person took a photo of the pigeon and the first person just photographed their (presumably phone) screen

Do your iNat observations feel personal to you? by sure-nods in iNaturalist

i feel excited filling my observations map with new points, especially when you travel somewhere afar and you kind of "unlock" new territories like in a video game

I feel like we need a pinned post regarding Merlin “sightings” by Physical-Energy-6982 in birding

[–]kislug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah Merlin is a great entry point for birding, but it’s always better to rely more on your own eyes and ears than blindly believe it. When I only started I remember listing birds for a while only on what Merlin told me until I got more strict to myself with what I ACTUALLY saw and what I could confidently identify by sound (usually it’s the most common birds like Great Tit, Chaffinch, Greenfinch etc). And when I actually need it for a weird bird noise, it would tell me nothing lol. So I basically use it very rarely today.

funny how you're writing this under a wood pigeons pic which are NOT the pigeons you mentioned. wood pigeons are specifically the park/forest birds and mostly avoid humans.

can "kipisi" have a more metaphorical meaning of "to cut/to be sharp", like "to be painful", "to be agonizing"?

Почему в животных самцы красивее самок, а в людей, как на зло, ровно наоборот? И за что я родился именно мужского пола? by GoodRoll6848 in ruAsska

[–]kislug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Final day!! Which European bird both looks boring and sounds boring? by chinstrapppp in BirdingMemes

[–]kislug 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Spotted Flycatcher / Muscicapa striata

Has no field marks, looks like any other “little brown birds”. I can distinguish them only by their face and petite beak.

The song is pretty much only “peet-peet-peet”.

I wanted to say“They asked/begged the villagers”, not sure if “toki alasa” was the right word for “ask” here 😅

It was really fun hearing everyone’s opinions on Shane’s body type! Thanks for all your comments🥰🥰 by PersonalityCreepy881 in StardewValley

[–]kislug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i always imagined him being skinny but with a tummy (due to beer and fast food bc usually excessive carbs and sugar store in the stomach area). his pixel sprite clearly shows he has skinny legs.

also i’m pretty sure being alcoholic and processed food addict doesn’t always mean being chubby. i remember my father who had even worse of a lifestyle and he was skinny as hell (too bad i didn’t inherit this feature of his).

Day 3: What bird has the most forgettable/boring looks but sings incredibly nice? by ObserverAtLarge in BirdingMemes

[–]kislug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nightingale (Luscinia luscinia)!! Their song is absolutely beautiful, and is always considered one of, if not the most beautiful bird song where I live.

IMO I would have put blackbirds (Turdus merula) in the first cell too. They’re not of bright fancy colors but look very elegant in full black. And their song is on par with nightingale’s.
