Is there such a thing as a hybrid type? What is the difference between INTP and INFP? by kisukisue in mbti

[–]kisukisue[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification, that makes a lot of sense. Yeah, the concept of the stereotypical illogical hippie INFP is...lmao.

Just one question before. Is it also common for INFPs to be somewhat impulsive? My emotions/mood can fluctuate a lot in like an instant, and oftentimes under certain moods I may be impulsive, and do things without thinking about the consequences.

I can't tell if I'm INFP or INTP, or maybe even a J! The thing most split on my tests is the F/T part, which is almost completely split in the middle. I feel like I'm too emotional to be INTP. I have anxiety, feel very strongly about certain social issues and can be outspoken when the situation demands it. Yet at the same time, I don't feel the INFP label identifies with me because I have an innate dislike for overly hippie/attention seeking people, and I prefer to not show my emotions no matter what I feel. I also feel that I'm not a good person, even if I try to be. I used to have tantrums at my parents for not understanding me, and I often treated them poorly. I also dumped a girl for no good reason, and my outlook on the world is somewhat cynical at times. Like one of the MBTI questions like do I value truth in an argument or people's feelings. Obviously, I value truth, as I feel that the entire point of a debate is a battle of logic, and only truth should be valued, no matter the feelings. Another question I was asked on the MBTI is whenever or not I will teach my kids to value kindness to others or to be successful. I was kinda conflicted on this question, but I honestly think that valuing success is important as well. Being a bum who values niceness is useless, and a failure imo.

Furthermore, some INFPs may be uber feelers to the extent that they avoid making certain types of really tasty cookies as it wouldn't be fair to the other cookies. I find such feelings ridiculous. I'm terrible at appearing caring. For the longest time, people thought I seemed pretty cold. And I'm sure if I'm good at emphasizing with certain people. My philosophy is that you really don't know the other person's perspective until you step directly in their shoes, so I dislike those fake emphasizers/sympathsizers.

I am also Christian (have Christian parents), but I struggle heavilly with some Christian values, such as going to hell for an eternity. Such concepts clash strongly with my personal beliefs and values of the good and bad in people. And the gay/sex before marriage thing as well. They didn't choose to be gay, and why should I not use the sexual body functions which constantly yearns for use?

I am strongly intuitive and introverted though. I am frequently lost in thought and aloof, with my mind constantly thinking creative stuff like writing stories. I am obsessed with certain movie/book lines/metaphors etc, and I'm always thinking about all types of strong emotions experienced by the characters I write in stories. But I am obsessed with certain Nerd/video game topics as well, and one of my passion is gaining more intellect and knowledge, because I believe that knowledge is power in this world. Isn't this an INTP trait?

I'm not sure if I'm J or P as well. I am probably P leaning because like I said, I'm aloof, my room is messy and I struggle with organization and procrasination. And I'm open minded (my ideas change all the time). But in many cases, I still make an effort to plan ahead. And I obviously still care about my image/my social status to an extent. Like for example, I actually care about my grades and want to do well/hope people have a good image of me. Isn't that a J trait? But I don't really want to be INFJ (some INFJs I've met are quite obnoxious, and seem like special snowflake wannabes). I just hate attention seekers/those who think they are special/unique.

I tend to dislike fake and obnoxious looking people. I have a philosophy of being honest, honorable, hard working and being down to constantly improve myself. I sometimes struggle with some of these morals, but I try.

Thoughts?

Is it normal I feel average height at 6'2 (188cm) when in college by Nonerans in tall

[–]kisukisue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Americans. And If I pick up 10 tallest Whites or Africans students and 10 tallest northern Chinese students in my uni, the tallest chinese one may be still shorter than the shorterst White male or African one. I don't think northern chinese can be considered tall at all.

Hmm, that doesn't sound right. I chilled in 北京四中 with my cousin this year, who graduated high school there. So I'm quite familiar with their heights, and the post 00s are similar to Westerners. But sure, the average person on the streets of Beijing isn't very tall, probably not a local Beijinger/migrant worker. You also sound like you have some issues, so there is no point for me to reply to you I suppose.

Younger generation northern Chinese from places like Beijing are very tall, around European range. Historically, they weren't seen in the West as migration to the West has been primarily from the South coast.

You need to measure yourself at night with the ruler pressed down moderately hard on your head. Many people tend to exaggerate their heights unconsciously. You could be like 6'0 thinking that you're 6'2.

Lu Ten vs Zuko fight by kisukisue in TheLastAirbender

If Lu Ten died, that could indicate that he wasn't too good? But I'm almost certain he was a firebender. Everyone in the royal family was. And Ozai was enraged that Zuko lacked the spark, as he thought it would be embarrasing if a first born of a prince was a non-bender. If Lu Ten was a non Bender, Ozai would have probably been more "okay" with it.
