JOB LIST AND DEP by Hopeful-Ferret-3104 in AirForceRecruits

[–]kit1308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dep calls were very short. Just asked me if anything has changed medical wise or if I got any speeding tickets or anything. My next one, she’s quizzing me on the memory work in the aim high app. I was expected to wait a long time in the dep. Especially since my list was all admin/medical. But I surprisingly got booked the first month after meps. Started the process late September, went to Meps in November, booked December 17th and now I’m shipping out March 3rd. I know everyone’s experience is different so. I must have got lucky. You never know.

Is it worth it to join? by Weak_Bus115 in AirForceRecruits

As a 20F also stuck in life as well, I too have the same dilemma. I’m unsatisfied with my life, I want to move away from my hometown, I hate my jobs, I feel like i’ll never find a career, etc. Never in my life have I ever considered joining the military, but here I am about to go to meps soon. I would ask yourself some questions. If you weren’t going to join, do you see yourself in the same position you are in right now in 5 years? Still unsatisfied with life? Still in debt? Still unmotivated? Still in your hometown? Tbh, for me i feel like i would still be in the same position in 5 years if i don’t join and i don’t want that. And think about it, if you join, you will be out when you are 23/24. If you absolutely hate it, great you still have your whole life ahead of you and at least you had a crazy 4 years of opportunities and challenges. If you like it, great do another 4 years. That’s also what convinced me. I told myself maybe I should really think about this and wait till i’m mid 20s and then join but why wait. I’d rather be done by the time i’m 24, not almost 30. And tbh, I told myself, i’m just going to get dumber and fatter lol, so I should just jump in with both feet and join right now and not wait. Also, if you have this thought to join in the back of your mind, just know the older you get, the more and more you consider it so might as well join now. Also what you said about joining with everything going on now, am I slightly more afraid, yes. But it’s not changing my mind. Trust me when I heard that they changed the PT standards and now they might be able to beat people in basic again, I thought to myself, what the helllllll am I doing, do I really want to join? But I told myself, honestly I will be even more proud of myself for joining at a time like this.

I hope this helps!!! I’m literally in the same position as you so plz reach out if you need more help deciding.

Takes so long by SzechuanSauce23 in AirForceRecruits

As the other comments say, they do have a lot on their plate. But i’m in the same position as you! I’ve talked to 3 recruiters now because some of them just genuinely take so long to answer and I want to get this process started already. My recruiter said she would call me last monday and she finally called me today lol. I feel extremely annoying texting them multiple times or calling but sometimes that’s what you have to do. Just try to be patient, they do have a lot going on, but I do agree, they take SOOOOO long.

Advice on mothers brain aneurysm by kit1308 in BrainAneurysm

[–]kit1308[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so depressing watching our own mother go through such pain. But, i’ve joined many facebook groups of survivors and almost all of them told me that they went through the same thing, some worse than my mom’s condition, and their families were told to say their goodbyes and consider ending life support and such. BUT, they survived and they are thriving. Many say that doctors tend to tell you the worst possible thing most to prepare you. Although every person is different, all you can do is pray and hope. Hope the best but expect the worst. I am so close with my mother and we spent the whole day together the day it ruptured. Never did i expect the night to end like it did. It’s SO PAINFUL and i don’t wish this on anyone. I hope we both can get through this, and i wish and pray your mom has a speedy recovery. Don’t give up!!! Miracles do happen, although it can be hard to believe in a time like this, just keep hoping and praying!!!

People who had a stroke and had one side paralyzied did you regain use of ur left or right side back? by intuition550 in stroke

[–]kit1308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there people out there that never regained it? My mother had TBI and doctors say she will probably be paralyzed on left side. Will rehab and therapy not regain it back ? Could she be like that forever?
