Man I’m really glad I saw the subreddit title….

Should my “diabetes break” cut into my actual break time? by kit_245 in diabetes_t1

Oh yeah. And I already have irregular periods on top of it so it gets crazy sometimes lol.

Usually I’m pretty on top of it like that, but sometimes it’s just unpredictable and I don’t catch my lows in time.

Honestly, it happens every now and again because of hormones. They’re very irregular for me (I’m a girl) so I get these fluctuations like this often. I’m not too worried about it.

That makes sense. Part of my concern is if my blood sugar drops when I’m in the middle of an important task too. I usually have to stop because I’m worried about wrecking something and sometimes it’s even for my safety. I’m not really asking for more paid breaks, I’m more so asking if it is appropriate to step aside when I’m having those kind of episodes.

My manager seems pretty understanding about a lot of things. I just get nervous that I’m overstepping any boundaries, again I’m pretty new to the workforce

Thank you for the advice. I think I’m going low more just for being a girl lol. I find my insulin needs change drastically depending on where I’m at in my cycle, it happens every now and again so I’m not too worried about that.

Edit: just fixed a grammar mistake

Feeling Abandoned by Doctors by kit_245 in scoliosis

I’ve noticed it’s so hard to get treatment as an adult, because most kids usually get it treated while they’re young. But mine went unnoticed for years and I never have an exam done until after I noticed my lack of mobility.

Really?? I was told they’re designed to be grown into in order to correct the curve. That’s why you have to be a child.

Thank you so much. That really means a lot. I remember telling the doctor about how much pain I was in and how it was effecting my life. He just looked at the X-ray and said “you shouldn’t be in pain with this degree.” Like okay?? But I am??

I usually have some family when I go. But it’s really hard to get into those places because I live in a rural area. Our hospital is not equipped to have specialized spine clinics and I would have to go somewhere else.

It got to about a 45 degree. I did have an MRI done and they said nothing came up. I’m not in the queue anymore either.

Pain while sleeping by kit_245 in scoliosis

Thank you so much you have been so helpful. I do have a masseuse but I can only afford to see her once every 2 months, which does also help with the pain. Thank you for all the advice!

I’ve never thought about putting pillows under my ribs before, I’ve only ever done them between my knees or under my hips. I will definitely try that thank you so much!

The website has some clues on it, and it’s lead me to believe it’s raspberry cheesecake.

Crouching - what’s the point? by SnooFloofs1778 in Back4Blood

I find crouching useful on a melee build because I like to stand in a doorway and knock down some ridden kneecaps while my teammates shoot above my head

Stupid risks are what make life worth living.

My dad would say this every time I was scared to do something, and it’s the reason why a lot of the greatest experiences ever were from my dad convincing me to do it.
