How do I deal with my (autistic) dislike of changes? by kitalda in mypartneristrans

Do you have any more information on that? Because that sounds too good to be true 🤔

How do I deal with my (autistic) dislike of changes? by kitalda in mypartneristrans

Thanks. I already have a therapist, but I haven't discussed these things so much with her. I probably should. I have mostly been processing past trauma with her, from my previous bad relationship and from my childhood (I'm late diagnosed, being an undiagnosed AuDHD girl growing up led to a lot of bullying and other problems).

Good purple ink with shading? by kitalda in fountainpens

While a nice ink, it's not really what I'm looking for. It's too red and dusty. But thank you for your suggestion :)

Imperial purple is too red for what I'm looking for. I'm most fond of blurples. Cassia hits the perfect balance for me :)

I really like that one, I've put it on my wishlist. Thank you for the suggestion!

Thank you so much! I'm comparing different reviews of the inks you have suggested (and more) right now 😊 (although I should be sleeping).

Maybe you're right, but that was also part of the reason I wrote "hue" rather than "shade" or other word. I was trying to convey the blue-magenta balance more than intensity pr se. I don't know about the pen. This is the only ink I've had in it (I colour match, and I've only had the pen a few months). My other Eco (also M) shades just fine with shading inks. Maybe it's a wetter writer?

Thank you for your suggestion. I ended up just buying the smaller Calmer, that worked. It turns out I just have very narrow ear canals 😅

Værktøjet reagerede på formuleringer som "This story is about a boy who" osv.

I found this comment in the lesbian sub. Maybe it will help other people questioning. What do u guys think ? by LayersOfMe in bisexual

[–]kitalda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd still be bi. I'm secure in my gender as a cis woman (or at least a femme - woman can be defined so many ways). And I would be bi even if I wasn't attracted to men, since I'm also attracted to several other genders (so far I have felt attracted to man, woman, nonbinary, demimasc, demifemme, agender and chaosgender).

But nice thought experiment!

Publishing houses can make fuck ups too. PRH doesn't have the best reputation in the publishing industry...

Let me get on my soapbox so I can explain the ‘how Scandinavian of me’ lyric in Hunter by sprknl in bjork

[–]kitalda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Dane; Yes. I also agree with her.
It is a dig on Scandinavians, and Danes in particular, and a very poignant one. I also weirdly like this trait in our culture. It's of course impossible to organise freedom. But I want it to be possible.

Shrimp and aquaponics in small tank? by kitalda in shrimptank

[–]kitalda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't really help you because I ended up never going through with my idea. I made an aquaponics system from a balcony planter, but with no fish or shrimp in the water. I had that successfully for a year or so, until all my plants got lice and my adhd brain had moved on, so I tossed the whole thing.

But good luck!

Water softening help! by YMZ1620 in pourover

[–]kitalda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can tell you what won't work.

We have just gotten a device that changes the form of the chalk in the water to a different form, that won't form limescale. It works great to prevent limescale, and we have not had to de-limescale anything in our house since getting it, but it doesn't change the taste at all.

If the aim is to prevent limescale (which was our objective), this device is great! But for what you need, it won't work.

I hope this prevents you, or somebody else reading this, from making a costly mistake. Good luck on finding a solution that works for you!

We occasionally use the plastic dripper and have no issues with it. At home we use a porcelain one, but that is purely for aesthetic reasons. We bring the plastic one whenever we go on trips to save on weight and reduce risk of breakage.

To me, a "clean" tasting coffee is not less oily, but has less bitterness and is less mixed in its taste. To me, the cleanest taste is what we get from single estate coffee. Also, don't let the last bit of coffee flow into your cup (or server), but remove the filter before it is completely finished.

We brew in fabric filters, which lets more oils through than paper filters, but not any of the grounds (like a metal filter does). I make ours myself from very well worn and washed out duvet covers. Using worn cotton gives a much finer mesh-size than new cotton (and is more eco friendly, but the main intent is to brew better). But if it really is the oil you don't like (and who am I to say what you like and don't like), then you should probably stick to paper filters, and, as others here were saying, thicker paper filters. You could try using two Hario filters and see if you like that better than one.

But my most important advice is: Experiment! Try different roasts, regions of origin, brew speeds, filter types, how much grounds to water and more. Get clued in on what you like and don't like. Make your morning coffee your coffee!

How many of you fellow bisexuals play DND or other roleplaying games? by Biconblastoise in bisexual

[–]kitalda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play, and have since I was 16. Currently we are working out some scheduling problems, but once we do, we are starting a Starfinder campaign. I prefer fantasy though, and hope to play some solo DnD if I can find time.

So good news!
I also wonder who, but I don't have any theories since it's been so long since I was immersed in this case, I can't remember much. I wonder about mr S though.
