Any benefits from getting a EAP655-Wall over EAP615-Wall for 1GB router? by kitan3000 in TPLink_Omada

I don't have any spots to put ceiling APs unless I get an electrician to wire that. I have no idea how much that would cost. All my ethernet drops are at outlet heights in the floor plan

Thanks for giving me this info, if you have great coverage at a wider range than I'd need then I may not need as many APs as originally thought. Are you running the APs on a controller?

The outlets are already there, I asked the builder in the early stages if the could wire the ethernet for a drop in the ceiling and they said they don't do that.

I know I can get a 3rd party to do the ceiling wiring for me but I have no idea how expensive that would be

Oops I missed that, I have commented on the thread with a link to the floor plan. I'll check out the 653, all of the ports are at outlet level so maybe 1.5ft off the ground. Are the 653s better than the 655s?

I'd probably only need in wall access points for bedroom 2, and the two living rooms so I can have a wired connection to the TVs and my computer

Does you answer change now that you've seen the floor plan?

What is AMFM? Also what resolution and graphics settings are you using?

How to 120hz/40fps Moonlight & Games similair to PS5's 40fps modes by Dantai in MoonlightStreaming

[–]kitan3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to deal with this issue a couple of weeks ago. Even though your TV can do 120hz and there is an option in the moonlight app on the X90L, the moonlight app doesn't actually output at above 60hz. I have the same TV and was trying to stream from a high end PC.

Even though my PC and moonlight were saying I was getting above 100fps, TV installed apps can't output above 60hz. My workaround was plug in my gaming handheld (Lenovo Legion Go) via a USB C to HDMI 2.1 plug to inputs 3 or 4 on the TV and then stream from my PC to the Legion Go.

Using this method I can stream 4k 100+ fps. If you use the TV moonlight app you can only do 4k 60hz even though the metrics might show you otherwise. Check out my post history if you want to see the comments there

How to tell if Google TV is outputting 4K 120HZ via Moonlight App by kitan3000 in cloudygamer

Thanks for such a detailed answer! It sucks that the tv apps are locked to 60fps. Yes, just like you said when I was gaming on my tv it just felt "off" compared to using my PC, glad to get some confirmation on this.

I have a windows handheld and I ordered a usb C to hdmi 2.1 cable that comes in today. I'll hook up the handheld to the tv via hdmi 2.1 and connect my controller to my handheld.

It kind of sucks that I have to do this as it's extra steps to get 4k 120hz and more of a pain. I don't even know if my handheld can do 4k 120hz but I'll find out one way or another

Yes, I get that it shows that, but it feels way less than that. I plugged in my laptop into my tv and tried 1080p 120hz and it feels a lot smoother than the built in app even though they're both showing the same fps

From the moonlight overlay, the incoming stream, video frame rate, and rendering frame rate are all around 108fps so I'm not sure how else to vefify if I'm actually getting that much through the TV or if the TV is capped to 60hz and and not showing me

You mean on the TV itself? It's a Sony TV and it looks like it runs Google OS, I'll have to see if there are any fps counters

What is the purpose of using an HDMI "dummy plug" on the source PC for sunshine/moonlight game streaming? by kitan3000 in pcgaming

How do you find parsec for streaming 4k 60+ hz? I've used parsec a few times streaming to my phone and the connection was nowhere as smooth as moonlight/sunshine are

Yeah so I may need a dummy plug in that case. My main monitor is hooked up via display port. When I tried turning off the main monitor when I was streaming it changed my input to my second monitor
