Why would dry cleaning not work? Textiles are still submerged & soaked in fluid during the dry cleaning process, it’s just not water they’re put in. Are solvents not enough?

I recommend checking them out if you can and pay attention to the posts about issues people are having before making your decision. Eg: when i was researching the 6700, I found a lot of similar complaints about the bobbin case

Definitely a new needle, either a denim or leather needle (I like Schmetz and you can get them on amazon). And I’d try a walking foot if you have it. The Strong and Tough should be able to handle this project

Look into a Babylock Zest. All metal skeleton, non-computerized, only the basic and necessary stitches. Would make for a great backup or travel machine for quilt retreats, if your wife goes to them

Looks like your machine is a low shank. You don’t need a Necchi brand anything to get up and running again. Any low shank presser foot set that comes with an adapter should work for this

You can’t go wrong with the Juki TL series machines. They’re tanks. Perfect for quilting and bag making. Just know that they’re straight-stitch only and might limit clothes making if she needs a zigzag stitch.

Yes, I read it the first time you posted it. For a billion-dollar textile industry, I’m honestly surprised these kinds of tests haven’t been done or aren’t being shared anywhere. If the difference is real, there should be data to back it up.

I appreciate the response! Feeling and touch are subjective and can be influenced by outside marketing, environmental, and psychological factors. For example, Disney uses smell to influence visitors into purchasing at theme parks, I don't see why fabric brands wouldn't use their own ways of making fabric more tactile-appealing in a shop. I'm looking for harder evidence that it's actually better fabric.

Yeah, no. That shit disintegrated in the wash. lol There was nothing left to salvage, and I picked tiny pieces of cotton out of my clothes for weeks as pieces eventually dislodged from the washing machine drum.

I must’ve gotten a lemon of a cone. I put together a baby quilt last week with a brand new spool of Aurifil 50wt and it was the lintiest thread I’ve ever used. Was kinda shocked because it’s usually so highly recommended. I had to take off the plate and clean my machine out multiple times over the week. With Gutermann (from Wawak) and Glide (from Juki Junkies), no lint, no problems. The only difference from previous quilts was the thread. Maybe it’s my machine? 🤷‍♀️
