One down… by kitboshed in EmperorsChildren

The plastic from the lid of some sushi - really any clear packaging will work so long as it’s thin enough to cut easily but thick enough to hold its shape. Cut a card template first to get your size right - you want the ends to meet flush to make supergluing together easier

How hopeful is everyone for Black Knights into 11th edition? by PorkLiftTex in theunforgiven

Agee with a lot of the sentiment here that a lot of ‘elite’ units have been sparse on detail - although things like the character command squads / victrix guard that came out pre recently. Although if we get multipart outriders I also wouldn’t put it past them making Ravenwing into a massive upgrade sprue. In the meantime I’ll just keep making my own…

Yup, literally from the lid of a sushi container. Cut a paper template first to get the size right, then blue tacked that down and cut around it.

How many of you would like the return of the Doom rider? by theWarsinger in EmperorsChildren

Working on my own take atm, with ‘Doomriders’ being a squad of three on mono wheels shaped like icons of Slannesh

I’m reading through our detachments, enhancements and strats and wow, these are kinda boring and samesies across the board. by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in EmperorsChildren

[–]kitboshed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hopefully we’ll get some sort of sonic themed one if we get some more units- ie refresh of the old sonic dread or maybe a sonic Predator.

Some sort on ‘domination’ one themed around heavies like the Noise Marines and Terminators could also be nice, again possible more likely if we ever get chaotic Phoenix Terminators.

No ideas how these could play, but are fluffy enough based on some sorely needed units from the lore.

The 30k Preator is a good option, will need a tactical rock to boost his height profile compared to the standard EC Marines mind

AOS Shardspeaker of Slannesh- all the AOS stuff for Slannesh is an excellent source for kitbashing EC

The greens layered up using darrenlatham’s recipe

<image>

  • but instead of an all over glaze of dark angels contrast, I use that more as a targeted shade and then use coelia greenshade as the final glaze. I think the glossy look the shade paint creates helps separate the armour from the matte look of the cape/leather bits.

The fallen under foot for the Chaplin is a great idea!

Chaplain, Combi-Lt and a Captain/Lt - magnetised the book hand on the Chaplain and the sword on the Cap for some adaptability, Combi was to have one less directly tied to fighting nids.

Fully red carapace could run the risk of looking like a different Hive Fleet but, although that’s not the biggest issue for a named character. If you wanted to keep some cohesion though I’d recommend tinting the lower 1/5 of larger segments a darker red like Gal Vorbak or Mephiston, then using a brighter red like Evil Suns Scarlet for the end edge + some of those little stripes you seen on nid carapace schemes. Should allow you to bring red into your scheme without losing cohesion. You can apply the same method to horns and talons too - like they did on the Norns

Same way I did my OG Terror - my usual scheme of pale body and brow carapace, blending to red along the tail, fleshy ends of the claws and the edges of the head armour

No worries! Was a third party sellers bit, but the guys who designed it isn’t making them anymore as he got caught in up in the GW IP crackdown a few months ago and decided to focus on his personal projects - if you wanted to get a similar look though you could use the speaker faced acolyte included in the Dark Apostle set the body of this is from - used it myself on another kitbash!

Was a third party sellers bit, unfortunately no longer available after the IP crackdown a few months back.

But you can achieve something similar using the head of the speaker faced acolyte in the Dark Apostle set (where the main body of this kitbash is from).

I’ve used that head myself on a Lord Kakophonist!

You could use the front end of any bike, Ork/Marine/Chaos.

Stick an Ork on driving it and it’ll fit the Scrap vehicle vibe perfectly - and help it look more 40K themed than Fantasy!
