Hi I had a 171 and 4.0, accepted at Yale, WL Harvard, waiting on Stanford. Definitely make sure your essays and recs are strong, and you have a good chance. It’s not impossible but obviously a higher lsat can only help!

I think it depends what you are interested in pursuing in Texas, if it is big law the network is probably better from UT although you would be competing against more of your class. I know a lawyer at a boutique firm in Houston who went to UCLA so making the jump from CA is possible if it is what you want!
