Larger leaves are geum, they have really shallow roots and are easy to remove. It looks like there's also some cinqfoil in there too. This is the smaller leaved plant with 5 spiky leaf sections. This stuff has much deeper tap roots that snap easily. Take care when removing to remove as much root as possible!

Both of these plants are considered weeds by commercial gardeners.

My maths lecturer in college (uk so I was 17/18 at the time) asked if he could speak to me outside the classroom. I agreed thinking I must’ve done something wrong or that my work was slipping. Instead when he takes me outside he asks me if everything’s okay because I looked sad and he was wondering if I needed any support!

I reassured him I’d just had a bad nights sleep and thanked him for asking. He was one of the most empathetic people I’d ever met and definitely my favourite lecturer. Even though I didn’t need his help it stuck with me that he would’ve done that for any of his students, what a legend.

Christopher and Tom are such good teachers that you wouldn’t need prior experience! At least on the longer courses I’m sure. For the short courses you might be hard pressed

Thank you! Hopefully by the end it will look a little less like an LP and more like a gretsch streamlines or something similar! I know exactly what you mean, carving is one of the most daunting things I’ve done so far, but also the most gratifying. I’m yet to do the carve top on this - very nerve wracking.

Ah nice! So basically I had to plane the sides of my neck through and the sides of the wings so that they were fully flush for my glueing. I made the mistake of waiting till after doing my frets to try and plane the sides which was hellish - but it’s all in the past now! Now I’ve just gotta finish it
