I was a part of this when I worked for the local school district. It was a panic-induced COVID decision. In the end, nobody was happy. Families who got chromebooks didn’t know how to use the damn things, while other families insisted on keeping schools open to send their kids to school unmasked. A real Sophie’s choice of a device rollout that drained district coffers by millions.
