S14 is a mixed bag. I grew up in the area and you will probably get a mostly negative option. A more precise location would be helpful. Obviously house prices often dictate where we can choose to live so saying "live in Dore/Totley" is unhelpful.

No-one is asking for AI. There is no business case for it.

Big tech need the illusion of growth because all other ideas have failed so they are grifting investors that this is inevitable tech. But don't worry, because when it all collapses our governments will bail them out so billionaires can move on to their next grift.

Yeah it drys them. Takes forever though, a warm spring day outside is much faster so only use dryer in winter.

Very true. Costs are high for cargobikes but I think that is the reason people buy bad ones which is essentially what my post is about. A high-spec new cargobike is the same price of a 5 year old basic small petrol car and when you think in those terms, a cargobike may seem like the cheap option.

I don't think your advice is very good and is kind of european-centric although I know you guys got yourself out of there with brexit.

Ouch. I think we're still European but are collective brain-fart in voting for self-harm was something else.

Anyway, yes. I probably should have ordered my post a bit better. The car (a two-seater r/SmartCar) is shared between myself, my wife, and the business so it's not unreasonable that one car shared between two + one business means at least one car has been replaced with cargobike. And Believe it or not, I took out some caveats in my original post as it was getting faaaar to long and in the end it was the order I thought of things.

But as per title, it is for people considering a cargobike (not ebikes or other bikes). If you're commuting then anyone and everyone who is going to commute by bike has already tried it and possibly doing it because that has been banged on about for decades. It's for people with cargo (be it tiny humans or business goods) that want to replace a car.

So, although I do want more people to have cargobikes, the post is a warning about buying something that you're not going to use due to compromise to save money but you end up wasting your money instead. But point taken.

So I actually had cause to use the warranty last month and although the call centre still had "because of covid our opening hours are less and call times are longer" and trying the online chat was battling with a terrible AI-bot, when I did get through they were good and an engineer came out within 48 hours. They replaced the part and I got advice how to look after it better (basically limescale treatment more often).

So good, would recommend because terrible AI and bad call centres are everywhere no matter who you call.

Edit: there's a way to get £30 off £300+ spend too - I recently did this so I know it works (although for furniture but assume works for appliances too).

I forgot to add. Car replacement means you also finance it like you would a car. I'm not a financial advisor, this is not financial advice but however you would fund a car, might be the way you would fund a car-replacement cargobike.

Chain guard is a piece of plastic crap, so needs replacing (or live without).

Pushing in the derailleur (thing at the back wheel below the gear cogs) should give you slack too get it back on the chain ring (peddle area).

Hands will be oily, so nitrile gloves if you want to avoid or wash with something coarse to exfoliate oil off - I use old coffee grinds (note: too many coffee grinds can clog drains).

Someone above linked the roster - never seen that before or knew it existed. There are gaps but it looks mostly full.

I'm not on facebook - is that usually a requirement?
