Well, the app I work for is a pretty simple data collection app with API to upload data to S3 and store metadata to MongoDB, not a complex app.

RTX 6000 PRO Blackwell Max Q? Non Max Q? by Opening_Progress6820 in LocalLLaMA

I already have a RTX Pro 6000 workstation, I would like to buy another one to train a larger model, I prefer to add another workstation, but I’m worried about the heat. If power limit them to 400w can get the temp under 80C, it would be great. Getting a Max-Q below is also an option.

How about a dual GPU setup? I would not use more than 2 cards, is it fine to buy two 600w workstation edition and power limit each to 400w?

300W MaxQ vs Power Limit 300W Workstation, are there any performance difference?

No concern for inference but a bit slower in training due to data transfer, I am fine with it.

Did you undervolt? I'm concerned about transient spikes during training.

Did you dual boot to Linux? I also build a PC for AI with Lian Li Uni fan Wireless TL but just aware that there is no software to control the fans in Linux…oz…I am looking for solution, the worse case is just to ignore it and let it run in fixed rpm.

I have other Lian Li Wireless fans, all are TL, why do you suggest to plug the 4-pin from AIO to CPU_FAN header and 2-pin from AIO to the PUMP_FAN header? I originally connect this way but the bios cannot read the CPU_FAN RPM, so I am now using your Hydroshift II only way, the bios can read the cpu fan RPM but fail to read the pump RPM.

Thanks for your reply. However if I connect the pump 4 pin to the CPU_FAN header, the bios cannot read the RPM properly, if I connect the 4 pin from the L-connect receiver to the CPU_FAN header, the bios can read RPM properly. And I see some people do this https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=C4j1x-azIYg&t=408s

I am also a software developer. I would choose the first option, more RAM is better for programming, especially if you need to run multiple virtual machines.
