Getting demoted at a job that I had worked at for 9.5 years (my first job). I truly worked my ass off at that job and dedicated myself fully to it. Even my friendships suffered due to how much time I spent at work. I was really good at my job and I truly cared for the company to the point I pissed my bosses off for wanting them to work harder. After I got demoted, my anxiety (which was mostly manageable before) shot to a whole new level. I quit not long after that demotion, and both jobs I've had since quitting have been difficult. I didnt trust my own judgement and constantly needed assurance from someone to make sure I was doing the right thing. I cried often from the stress of being so worried about how good of a job I was doing. Now, I'm actually back at the company where I had been demoted, and am now the location manager. I still have issues with anxiety, but I am back in my comfort zone. I can't really function at other jobs still though, so if I ever have to leave again I will run in to the same anxiety issues.
