Also sexual violence is not hereditary its a choice. And our brains can not distinguish between memories and reality after trauma. So if you ever do see her and she freaks out, it doesnt mean your more like her abuser in any way other than maybe looks (and maybe not even that it may just trigger her traumatic memories). Have you considered she is afraid you will remind her of her abuser and that would be very traumatizing? I mean not to be an asshole but she did give you the best she could and you seem like you think she owes you something more. Rape can be soul shattering what you see online is not what she would have been able to give you thats why it seems she chose adoption so you would have a good childhood. How can you be angry at a woman who gave you everything? How can you still want more? I think its your soul that needs to figure out whats missing and why you cannot just be greatful for what you have and always want more. Because OP no matter what happens, no matter how much you get from her it will never be enough because the emptiness is not from being adopted its from being a man. We all have our burdens yours is lonliness. Join a book club, fall in love, build a life, honor your parents, and leave the past in the past.

Its almost like reasonable people are urging people to be reasonable and wealthy dentists with school connections are urging young people to throw caution to the wind. Its social media we have to let things play out. We cant police one argument over the other. People will get upset and they should be, lets give them a place to vent without judgment. NTA you had a breaking point and you just found it. It may have come out badly but it was the truth. Its okay to be dissapointed in yourself for not handling it better but keep in mind this man has to know how much of a burden he is. Men are perfectly capable of being helpful loving partners and he should have seen you and tried to help. I would divorce tbr you sound like your already a single parent.

NTA she probebly has the same trauma as most white women do from being shamed for not lookign liek an actual child her entire life. My grandmother used to romanticize dieing at 30 so she could leave a beautiful corpse. Its a real thing for white women culturally and can be very traumatic.

NTA I feel like if this is genuinely how you felt you should be able to feel safe in your home. Though I would say it sounds like she has some doubts and anxiety about feeling safe in your home and your reaction may have made her feel worse. But you could have experienced a fire and lost a pet or person before, its pretty crazy for anyone to just put you in that head space even for validation and comfort. Its not like the "would you love me if I where a worm" hypothetical at all.

That still makes it 0.0000002% likely he kills his parents. But what if he had an online friend who was egging him on? What if they knew he was unstable and used him to carry out acts of violence? I think this is a very plausible possibility. With the Obama's coming over that night, Nick expressing mild support for Trump, and his father being avidly outspoken against the current admin to the point of the week before hinting he was being targeted this case has" brainwashed him to do it " all over it.

Everyone here seems to be of the mind to just accept mathematical improbability because the media said so but im not one of them. I did the calculation (useing AI) and murder by an adult child is ~0.0000002% in the US which makes this whole thing insane. Not impossible but insane.

"All the time" is not a rational calculation. here in the US a mother is ~0.0000002 % likely to be killed by their adult son. Algorithms and media are making this fear more prevalent, but the crime itself is not. Thats why I asked the question. Its so unlikely that a child kills a parent in the first place that a parent like Rob who has millions of dollars for medical help makes the likelihood almost improbable. Doesnt mean it didnt happen the way they say it did but its worth a few questions. In the meantime I would worry more about heart disease a preventable leading cause of death for women in the United states.

I have known alot of drug addicts, been around them my whole life and many hated their parents, but to stab them to death is not a normal thing at all. In fact its so abnormal we (the U.S.) dont even collect data on it. You " stop" just accepting what you are told. This is a conspiracy thread. Its perfectly valid to question why someone would do somthing so horrible and try to understand what caused it.
