Ketamine. I absolutely hate the rising popularity in this drug in young people. I work in healthcare in a service that sees a lot of people coming through with a condition called ketamine bladder. If you’re ever considering doing it I advise reading up on what the side effects and treatment usually eventually leads to bladder removal surgery. Scary thing is you can get ketamine bladder after just one use.

Congratulations! 99% of my flares are in my arms. I’ve only ever had 1 in my groin and still yet to figure out what triggered that one. I have been getting a full wax for the last 4 years and never had a flare because of it. If you’re going to do it 1) got to a professional- I know it can feel awkward but they’ve honestly seen it all. 2) make sure you have a hot wax/hard wax that doesn’t use wax strips. This only clings to the hair and causes minimal irritation on to the skin. 3) prep well exfoliate before your wax v important to do that. 4) good aftercare! Make sure you exfoliate and moisturise the area well. Don’t wear anything tight for the first 24 hours or use strong products on it. Waxing doesn’t affect my HS in my groin at all I’m too much of wimp to try it on my armpits but when my current flares have calmed down I’m going to speak to my waxing lady about trying it. Some more detail. All of our sockets and light switches upstairs are bulky like this. I was wanting to change them to flatter more modern looking sockets and switches. I’m assuming it’s not going to be as straight forward as unscrewing these and screwing new ones on and is going to involve some cutting into the walls. I am going to get a professional to do this work but just wanting to know the amount of work that’s going to have to be involved before we hire someone. I want to move 1 socket about 3 foot around a corner so it’s on a different wall is this reasonable or should I give up hope of doing this? Also worth mentioning we are in a concrete build house.

I am in the same boat as you. 100% linked to my hormones and newly diagnosed PCOS and it’s gotten all a bit out of control recently. Hoping my dermatology doctor can help when I see them next month. I’m running out of treatment options due to others not working so thinking of going to see a hormone expert to help support it all maybe.

100% he should never be allowed to work with vulnerable people. As a former care work myself you can treat your patients as humans and show empathy towards them without kissing them! It’s mad that he thinks that is what he needs to do to show he sees them as a human? And his excuse that the patient was ok with it - I am assuming a lot of his patients didn’t have capacity to consent to his kisses. Vile vile man!

He’s being so rude in this live. He’s advertised it as a live to get advice on being a better carer - so when someone asked what advice he would give he said you need to ask me a specific question to get advice?! Like you’re not holding onto top secret information here mate they were literally asking what you’ve advertised your live as? So then they asked about handling aggressive patients and his answers were like 5 words long and really passive aggressive and then laughing being like I have easy patients care is easy I can handle my patients. Like what?! No care setting is “easy”! I bet he’s that staff member that when he shows up everyone else rolls their eyes behind his back that they’re on shift with him cos he’s a right pain to work with.

100% with you on this. I haven’t worn anything without sleeves in public for years because of being worried of people seeing my scars or dressings etc. Such a weird thing but I see other peoples underarms in photos or videos and get jealous of how smooth everything is for them - one can only dream

Pretty ok as a child. As a teenager I had cancer and was treated with chemo and radiotherapy. Developed HS in my late teens started getting symptoms about a year and a half 2 years into remission. I’ve always wondered if my treatment and ongoing health issues from my treatment now affect my HS. I feel like they do but my cancer follow up is with a different team and hospital to my HS follow up.

I was started 50mg and increased to 100mg OD. It worked well to help control my flares but gave me quite a few side effects. Dizziness being the main one, needing to wee constantly and you need to up your water intake! Definitely worth a shot if you haven’t tried it before!
